• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Engine light

Hello,
We're on vaca...... out in the middle of no where and the engine light just came on.
What does it mean? Cant find any useful info in the owner's manual.
Thanks,
P.W.

Year and model of Spyder would be a big help. Look in the ToC in the operator's guide for "Messages in the Multifunction Gauge."

delete fail:banghead: after applying correct code to Spydercodes app P0172: system too rich bank 1.
yes dealer can check fuel pressure regulator mean time you can try some ethanol treatment mixed with full tank& or some ethanol free gas

Thanks for tje info. Guys!
Headed to the dealer 170 miles away.... kind of messed up or vaca though.

Keeps us informed PW. If it's running ok I'd probly ignore it until I returned home after getting the dealer to check and log the fault with BRP.

How many miles has the trike done?

Bummer..

Step one...turn her off and remove the key. Get a cup of coffee/beer. return and restart and see if the light goes out. If it does ryde on and see if it comes ack on. Should it come on again there may be an issue but if not it is one of the many glitches one can get. The check engine will come on for any problem be it engine or not.

Thanks for the help all! With only 3700 miles on the bike I didn't think we would have troubles already. We did find a dealer in Minnesota that was able to help us on Monday morning.
Will let you all know what we find out.

The dealer cleared the code and the light has not came back on yet in 350 miles..... were hoping it was just a tank of bad gas.

You have a brand new Spyder. A dealership has taken one unsuccessful attempt to correct it. Get it to the dealership you purchased it from, tell them to open a case on it with BRP. Research if IA has a lemon law that includes motorcycles and if it does, put in your quiver that the dealership is on step 2 of giving you a new Spyder under the LL. Save copies of all paperwork that both you and the dealerships generate. If your selling dealership can't get it fixed promptly, like in just a few days, ask them to provide you a loaner.

No such luck.....just came back on

That seems to correspond to what other owners have reported when camshaft timing is out by 1 tooth - CEL returns after some hundreds of miles.

Thanks for reporting back.

Would it really take 3,700 miles for the code to appear for the first time if it were the timing?

I would be getting ahold of your tuner, and tell them what is going on and see what they think!! jmo, Good Luck

Is it possible that the camshaft position sensor going/being out of whack is causing the recurring light? I flat have no idea.
