• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HowTo: Emergency seat and frunk release cables

There have been several threads about opening the seat or frunk on an RT when the normal opening method failed. Well, with the Coronavirus here and having to stay home I decided to do a video on how to get around this problem. Search for the video on YouTube "Spyder Emergency Seat and Funk Release" or just click on the link below.

Stay healthy.

Good job, thanks for taking the time to do it. I had done mine with fishing leader and no outside tube. I like yours much better and with some of the down time I think I will modify my setup.

I guess I'm lazy as this is my emergency cable. The end just peeks from under the frunk lid. For a knob to grab on to, I drilled a hole in a plastic valve stem cap just large enough for the cable to pass through (from the top) and tied a knot in the cable. The the knot was pulled into the cap.

Keith, thanks again for your effort. While at wallyworld I noticed in the bike section replacement cables. Two of the larger diameter brake and two smaller diameter shifter setups for less than $10. Put the smaller diameter setup on the seat and using the larger for the frunk. Full set left over for the next time.

Thank you everyone for the good comments. You'll be thanking yourselves later if you actually need to use the cables in an emergency.:clap::clap:

When I started on the frunk pull I noticed how much of the shifter cable and housing was left over from the seat, used it. Drilled a hole in the lever and used a RC airplane clevis then used a slot car wheel for the pull. Got to combine several fun past times in one project.
