• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Emergency Colby Valve

great idea. back in the 70's, i use to drive tow trucks. if a truck got onto a parkway, and was too tall to make it under a overpass, the cops would cut the tire valves off to flatten the tires to get it under the overpass. then the driver would have to wait for a tire repair guy to come and replace all the stems. this would of been great to have for truckers back then

Hi Cavman,

Re: What a great idea!

As an engineer, I find it interesting. However, when it says: " . . . be prepared for the next time you break a valve stem."

In 63 yrs of driving motor vehicles, I have never had this happen.

Good luck to them, we always need innovators & thinkers,

The only problem I see is what happens to the part bouncing around inside the tire? My truck has metal stems because of the tire pressure indicater built in. One or more are defective because I've had a blinking light for over a year now. :banghead:
