• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

emergency brake

I've read a number of threads here regarding the emergency brake. I always leave my car in gear (standard shift) and I do the same with my spyder. Is there supposed to be a problem with leaving the SM5 in gear when it's parked? Just wondering.

No problem with leaving the SM5 in gear while parked, and not using the parking break. Now the SE5 is a completly different story. :yikes: I think its a smart move myself.

LOL - Well if you don't put it in park the ENTIRE parking lot will think you are backing up with that continuous BEEPING. It actually stopps after about a minute or so, but I make it a point to put on the parking brake BEFORE I even turn off the ignition. "THINK" lol, it will roll down the street if you don't <Grin> :chat:

Beeping noise??? You have a beeping noise when backing up or are you joking..if you do..I would find a way to turn that crap off.

Anyway, when I first got my spyder last year, the e-brake was worthless. Got the recall fix done, still nothing and they told me to replace my pads. Ok, whatever. Now, after I replace my pads, and did some adjustments to the cable..yeah..got an e-brake. In NC, I don't think they make a flat parking lot so it is nice to have the engine running and warming up as I put on my gear and put my crap in the trunk. It also tends to get peope away from my bike quicker and stop asking stupid questions. I have a hindle so standing next to me while talking and me cracking the throttle really gives that "back the Fiing up" state.

Pastches - on the SE there is a beeping noise when you turn off the ignition to remind you to engage the parking brake. If you don't it will roll off.
