• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Emergency Brake

Hi Everyone... 2010 RT Emergency brake will not engage.. doesn't effect me driving it but the loud beeping is enough to drive anyone crazy once I cut the key off... I don't have a can am dealer or shop near me so does anyone have any ideas what could cause this?? Asking for a friend.

A 2010 precedes my introduction to Spyders but, left to my own devices, the first thing I would do is check that all the relays are properly inserted and tight. Then check for a blown fuse. The operator's guide doesn't specifically identify the fuse for the parking brake motor that I can see. Now it's time to pull off some Tupperware to ensure the parking brake cable is properly situated on the brake motor pulley. If not, fix; if good, proceed. Next I would drag out my multimeter and check for current flow from the parking brake switch to the parking brake motor. No juice = switch problem. Good juice to motor = poor ground on parking brake motor or bad motor.

In addition to fuses, If the brake is engaged but the sensor switch is not, you can have these problems. Look under panel on RH side(sitting on bike) mid section you wil see the P-Break motor ,cam wheel & cable. Watch it as you operate it on & off, you should see the micro switch it touches at end of a movement. Make sure ditch is touching & functional.

Here's the thing....

The beeping will only last less than a minute. :agree: they covered the areas to check some of those early models had a problem with the cable jumping off the wheel up front. many put a small "L" bracket just above the resting position to keep the cable from jumping off...

I had a sticky switch below the cam wheel. The switch stuck in and would beep when I released the brake. I sprayed with WD 40 a few times and worked the switch with a screwdriver. It freed up and that fixed it. Mine was a 15 rt.
