• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Elkas question

I ordered stage 1+r through my dealer. I have a 2014 rts. After removing the stock shocks I noticed the elkas are shorter by 1-3/4 inches. Is this correct? After installing them the ride height has dropped about the same.Do I have the wrong shocks by mistake?
My friend has the identical shocks on his 2013. We checked the preload adjustment ring and they were the same.

The 2013 and 2014 shocks are the same length. It sounds like you may have a set of 2010-2012 Spyder shocks, which are 1 full inch shorter.

All I find on the web site is older model RT shocks

where are the shocks listed for the 2014 RT

Thanks

Don

The stock number on the box is Can-Am Spyder RT/R T-S STOCK E36R. There is a number stamped on the head, HP31946 and HP31947. These are serial numbers? The spring is F5.8x254 (same as my friend's 2013 RT.

shocks/bajaron sway bar

Well, the front stock shocks are sprung very very weak, so we use stiffer springs with less preload which ensures that the shock does not use its available travel after the slightest bump....so you will be able to save your bumpskid no problem. ;)

I have Bajaron sway bar do the shocks complement the bar? I have read that if you have the bar you don't need to upgrade shocks.

Having both is a great combination! As I had them on my 2011 RSS and hope to soon add the Elka's on my 2014 RT with my existing Baja Ron sway bar.

I recommend only making one modification at a time. If you feel you need more after the bar, you can add it later, or vice versa.

I have both the sway bar and shocks. I installed the sway bar first and rode for a couple weeks. The sway bar improved the handling on road
in gusty winds and behind Semi trucks. There was less body roll passing trucks and in corners. But the was still a fare amount of body roll
and dive in the front end in corners. The I installed the Elka stage 1+r shocks. There was a big improvement in handling. All the dive in the
corners is gone. I find that I can take corners 15 to 20 MPH faster than before the shock change. The ride is just a little bit stiffer than stock.
I would say do both sway bar and shocks. I am glad I did.
