• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Elkas question

I win  I finally asked a question that Bob does not know the answer to. :yikes:

I need to mark this on the calendar, 37,000 + :(posts and he is finally postless. :roflblack::roflblack:

The answer to that question is No. They maintains the same static ride height as the stock, unlike the 2010-2012 shocks.

Nuts, the 2014 sits lower than the old 2012 and with the bumpskid you have to be careful going over dips. Don't suppose you could make one a little longer? And not mess up handling.

Well, the front stock shocks are sprung very very weak, so we use stiffer springs with less preload which ensures that the shock does not use its available travel after the slightest bump....so you will be able to save your bumpskid no problem. ;)

So does this mean the 2014 RT with the Elkas will have a firmer ride now ? Is there going to be any discount on the Elkas at Spyderfest ?

Thanks for the info. I am on my way to getting elkas right now. My 2014 sits 1-1/2 inch higher than my 2010 right now so i am happy with that. The bumpskid I had on the 2010 only kissed a few times in 20,000 miles so i am sure the new one will hit less. But that is what it was made to do, right?

The will be specials on Elka's at Spyderfest and yours truly will be there doing FREE installs and tuning for all.

 That WAS a post... ;)
I was just waiting to see what the correct answer was; that's all! :D

My mind still isn't made-up about the 2014 front end... it's way better than the older bikes; I just can't decide if it needs shocks and a bar, or not...

I agree the ride and handling is far superior, I was just looking for a little more height for bumpskid clearance and hoping that I could get the same 1" rise on the 2014.

Yes that was a post, just no answer. :roflblack:

 :D

If you "drop the tail" of your bike; it will raise the front up a little bit... :2thumbs:
Try running with the rear suspension, set a bit softer...

Well, you can try the Elka shocks Spyderfest ! Part of the deal we have going on with Pitbull powersports is " Buy em, try em, like em, keep em" . If you are not satisfied with the performance of the Elka shocks, come back and see me. I will take them off, put back on your stock ones, and give you your money back, no questions asked.

We will have an Elka road course on the fairgrounds where you will get to try them out, or take them out on the road for a spin. Your choice. ;)

I ordered stage 1+r through my dealer. I have a 2014 rts. After removing the stock shocks I noticed the elkas are shorter by 1-3/4 inches. Is this correct? After installing them the ride height has dropped about the same.Do I have the wrong shocks by mistake?
My friend has the identical shocks on his 2013. We checked the preload adjustment ring and they were the same.
