I just had the Elka (300 lb) shocks as suggested by Lamont installed on my RT-S. They were set at 9". All I can say is WOW!!!!!! There is a world of difference. With that said I think it appropriate to describe
I'm 6' and weigh 195 lbs, (give or take a few). My wife is 5'5" and weighs 118 lbs. 85% of my riding time is single. 15% is with my wife or grandchildren on the back. 80% of my riding is around town and since I live in Flarda, there aren't very many "twisties". I guess the sharpest turns are when I'm trying to "beat the changing of a light".
My riding style is not all that aggressive although at times my wife beats me over the head.
When I rode on our brick streets in Sanford, Florida, I could not believe the difference in smoothness and lack of vibration that I had experienced with the factory shocks. Additionally, there was not the dipping sensation that I had experienced. My wife noted the same.
I truly recommend to all RT-S owners that they seriously consider purchasing the Elka 300 lbs shocks. Although they are expensive, they really serve their purpose.
On a side note. I now have a set of factory RT-S shocks that I don't need. If anyone wants them for their RS, you can have for free. Just take care of the shipping.
