• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Welcome..!!

looking a lot like a plane running out of runway and the wheels still on the ground...wish them the best of luck...

The saga continues. The last time I checked--I could find no information about plant start up--the latest was a defunct GM plant in Louisiana. The Chamber of Commerce was not even touting the development or the possibility of the 1500 jobs. The information about availability of product was removed from all Elios information. Prior to that--the information said manufacture of Elio no later than December 2014. Production start up has been changed at least two times that I know of. So--we have another year to wait.

You can visit Racer Trust's website and download a pdf sales brochure about the plant. It's in excellent condition and GM did a considerable number of expensive upgrades a few years before closing it down. We figure GM wouldn't mind if it got razed to keep a competitor from moving in.
Caddo leased the entire site to IRG with instructions to provide space to Elio for 30 months and to provide the $7.5 mil they initially promised to invest. We're watching to see if IRG backs away again if Elio fails to attract substantial investments to get going.

I can't wait A YEAR! I need an Elio in my garage NOW. Next year I can't afford one! I have to buy health insurance!

This is what the owner of Elio company says:

"Front engine, front wheel drive, with a steering wheel, not handle bars, with three airbags, two seat belts, air conditioning, power windows, and power door locks. So from a driving experience it's certainly more similar to a car than a motorcycle," said Paul Elio, of Elio Motors.
The vehicle can also go more than 100 miles per hour.
"You can get a ticket in it," said Elio.

And all that for only $6800? I don't know if it is at all possible. You know what they say, "If it sounds (or looks) too good to be true, then it probably is."

:gaah: I guess that we had to expect this...
I'm still hoping that they can pull this all together; even at an increased price!

Here's the thing..!!

as I see this vehicle has but one way in or out...driverside door. That is just too much cage for me. Be it a car or motorcycle...!!:thumbup:
