• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Electric Park Brake problem

Babymoose

RT-S PE#639
A search showed no results. My park brake is being finnicky. It won't react with a single push of the button - multiple attempts are required. I am worried it will stay on sometime and not release at all. I suspect e relay. What do you guys think? Can someone tell me which relay it would be? A quick response would be great as I am loading the two spyder on & off the trailer to try to get the best position and make room for a beemer 1150rt. Worried the brake will stick and I wont get the RT off the trailer.

You might check to be sure that the cable has not come off the pulley. This has been a common problem with RT's. Altough it usually causes the brake not to work at all.

Thanks all. I decided I haven't time to dig into it today after all. I will just use it (the park brake) as little as possible for now. It is sitting on the trailer now with the brake on. I just hope I can get the brake off when it is time to unload!

Never have used parking brake

2010 RT S SM5 and my parking brake works flawlessly since day 1. I use it every time I park even on level ground. :2excited:

I try not to use the parking brake on the RS - SM5 - the back brake seems to start squeaking if I use the park brake. On this RT SE5 we use the parking brake all the time. I do however leave the park brake off when the RT is parked in the garage for lengthy time periods (like winter) so I can move it around. I plugged the RT into my Yuasa battery minder last night so I am hoping it might work better with a fully charged battery. We should finf out today if that helped.

I guess the battery was a little low, or I was holding the button down too long. The little woman rode the RT Sunday and had no probs with the park brake and it works good for me now.
Thanks everyone!!
