• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Electric frunk release

So yesterday I'm at the Spyder dealer to pick up a CB and entertainment harness that I had ordered. I was looking around at some of the accessories on display and found one of the discontinued electric frunk release kits. I figured "hey, this is what a lot of folks have talked about, and even made their own after it was discontinued. I better buy it!". So, I did.

Now I'm deciding whether to install it! I'm thinking that if you have to have the key on to use it, why not just turn the key to open the frunk? So, my question is: what is the advantage of the electric release? Convenience at pushing a button rather than turning the key, or is it just another cool farkle (not that there's anything wrong with that!)?

KISS!

Since I can't reach the frunk from my seat and I can unlock it with the key turned on I see no reason for an electric unlocking system. YMMV.
