There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. ECU FLASH OR?

Hi, I've seen a lot of posts about flashing the ecu. What is the general consensus what and where to get more performance out of my 2014 RTLTD. I'm not looking for a crotch rocket but something that won't cause any long-term damages to the bike. Engine wise it's stock. Thanks, Mike

Most modern engines have scads of computer control systems, where the settings & controls embedded in the computers basically control the level of power & torque that the engine can deliver.... Some manufacturers use these settings & control systems to provide the end user with an engine that produces the maximum safe level of power, torque, & fuel economy or whatever other sort of performance that their percieved customers might be after, but it seems BRP didn't like that approach.... They decided to use the computers to massively LIMIT the output, so they sell pretty much the same engines as those that power our Spyders into other markets with the engines putting out SIGNIFICANTLY MORE power & torque (& even better fuel economy) than we can get from our Spyders!!

Effectively, we get significantly de-tuned & down graded outputs from our Spyders while other markets get to enjoy the greater power, torque, & fuel economy that these engines are quite clearly capable of safely producing & delivering reliably.... maybe that's because BRP expects us all to be doddering old farts who couldn't possibly handle any more power or speed, or maybe they thought that'd leave room for upgrades we'd pay more for later on, then forgot to let us access them?!? I dunno!! But I for one REALLY ENJOY the significantly greater power & torque that I'm getting from my ECU Flashed Spyder now, and I'm quite happy that it's still perfectly reliable & safe, at least the way I ryde it, cos the very same motor is out there in other markets reliably & safely churning out even more power & torque than I get now, altho what I get is about half as much again as what a stock tune Spyder with the same motor gets!! And yet this improved performance is all well under the 'already proven safe & reliable by their own products' limits, so it's something BRP could provide.... if they didn't think we were all incompetents & incapable of handling any more than their existing de-tuned limits!

Yeah, I know, I have some $ burning a hole too and sometimes that's not a good thing. That being said_____what's the best way to go to flash,. Who, where, how while it's still winter and how long does it take to get the ecu back. Looks like a pretty simple job to take it out and put back in. Thanks, Mike

There are 2 guys doing it. Monster Fuel Injection (Steve) in Canada (Spyd_Piper on the forum) and Jason from Australia (Jase on the forum). Two different approaches from what I can glean and 2 very different prices. I and others with the F3 series rydes have had some problems with the flash from Steve. We were early adopters and from the sounds of things he has sorted out the issues some were getting. I have heard nothing negative about Jason's from Australia other than the cost and distance for most....
