First let me say this community and group of people is absolutely refreshing...
I check out all the threads and people are helpful!?!?!?! I hope to get to ridewith some of you soon.
On to the question:
I have been scouring the interwebs for info about ECU tuning options for the spyder. I see several old threads about the juice box and juice box pro and a few with rumors on the powercomander. It appears the two are the same or made by the same company and both can import maps from commander site. I also found that HMF makes atuner (and or piggy back system) for the spyder which seems to function the same as the first two.
Every bike I own gets mods and upgrades it’s just too much fun but when it comes to electronics I get "timid" with what to do and why. Engine safety is a big concern andlet me share where I am with the bike at the moment. Just purchased HMF slip on should be here this weekend. My bike gets some backfire with stock exhaust so i feel pretty confident I will need something to push more fuel with the HMF. I plan ongetting something for the intake I like kewlmetals intake but not sure if the company is still in full swing and viable according to other forum post.
As far as engine mods those are my only plans... HMF,intake/filter and whichever engine management system.
Are these 3 the only options?
Are the "canned" maps viable?
Any differences in the 3 choices?
Who has used them and with what success or disappointment.
I am not too concerned about losing a little gas mileage butalways concerned about engine safety
Thanks in advance
