• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi guys, today I am so active, my second question :)))
Okie so I want to buy a EBC brake pads from Lamonster for F3s. But because of shipping and most important, bloody customs, its easier to buy them here in Slovakia. Anyway, the official dealer of EBC breaks told me, that he can Order me [FONT=&quot]FA630HH a FA631HH [/FONT]but in their systems they do have, that for every Can-Am Spyder they should sell only [FONT=&quot]FA630V a FA631V
[/FONT][FONT=&quot]The difference is in if they are fully Sintered (HH) or Semi Sintered (V)

Does any of you have experience with this? I do like to rYde fast, but also I am rYding in the city so I want to be able to stop when the breaks are not at their opt. temperature.

You want the HH fully sintered pads for the F3. They have slightly more initial bite than the stock Brembo pads. Either stock or EBC have more than sufficient braking force to lock up the wheels at any reasonable heat level. Both will last about the same. The V pads have yet more initial bite but fade and wear quicker.

Having ridden all three, I prefer the Brembo pads. While they have less initial bite, they are much more linear in application. I have ridden a lot of twisty roads and have never been able to overheat the Brembos to the point they faded. On the older 2012 brakes, it was easy to do.

:agree: I don't have the brembo being the older model spyder but do have the EBC semi sintered (V) pads on the back and once seated in properly have performed well. Glad to see you are still running about and wearing things out....:roflblack:

Get the HH pads. The reason they are saying this is because the HH pads are considered 'Race' pads. The original applications for these pads are for crotch rocket motorcycles that weigh under 500 lbs. It takes a more experienced rider to deal with the additional stopping power of the HH Fully Sintered pads on a vehicle that light with only a tiny bit of rubber on the road. But for a machine pushing 1,000 lbs. (Unloaded) running car tires it is definitely the way to go. I sell a lot of the HH pads. Customers love them. They stop much better, last longer and are usually quiet. At least as quiet as the OEM pads.

Do you recommend changing the factory disks too when changing to HH pads? Thanks.
 
The Title of The Thread can be easily fixed:
When you hit the "Edit Thread" button, the next screen will have a button marked "advanced" (or something close to that...)
If you hit THAT button: you can access the Thread Title also! :thumbup:

It is not necessary to change the OEM factory rotors when going to HH pads. The stock rotors are fine.

The EBC rotors are a more aggressive steel compound and will increase stopping power even more than going with just the pads. They are also more resistant to warpage than the OEM rotors. And they are much less expensive. So if you are going to change rotors out of necessity or for better stopping power, the EBC rotors are a very good way to go.

Did EBC drop the HH pads for the older series spyders or am I just mis-remembering them being available? I think they are pad profile 474 and 473.

I wouldn't worry as these Americans can't spell properly anyway. They keep writing things like tire instead of tyre and color instead of colour:-)

Because the HH pads are supposed to be a 'Race' compound. EBC never made a fully sintered pad for the 2008-2012. I have been told that Galfer made a fully sintered pad for the early Spyders. But I've never been able to find any pad sets at all from Galfer for the Spyder. So I am skeptical that this was ever the case.

DP shows a sintered metallic pad for the rear but nothing for the front. Couldn't find anything from Ferodo or Braking. Galfer also shows nothing for the Spyder
