There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Easy Risers

I ordered my easy risers from ESI today. Just wondering if anyone else has installed them and if so how did it turn out. Any pointers to make the install easier would be helpful.

I did the same a day ahead of you and am wondering the same. I did review the how-to for the original riser install for some pointers that may be useful.

Keep us informed on the install and function guys.

I'm wondering if the stock mirrors are still useable(they look covered in the pics).
Also how much the risers move the bars rearward and if the cables are long enough.

I'll be removing a 2" riser block before I place these. All in all it looks like it will be a straightforward install since I already have my cables free of ties and know I have plenty of length to work with. It will be nice to get the view of the dash back while still having some up-and-out on the bars.

Not sure about the stock mirrors. My first mod was the straight mirror extensions which I recommend regardless of how the bars are setup.

I will be installing mine either tonight or tomorrow morning on the phantom Spyder. I'll let you all know how it goes. The phantom doesn't have any mirror extensions.

I installed them this morning. I needed to pull out the 2" riser block I had first. This drops the bar center back down to a level where I can see the full dash display and lock the wheels when parked. I used a pipe cutter that is probably as old as I am and smoothed out the edges with a Demel Tool. I had plenty of cable length to do this just the way I wanted.

To remove the existing grips I used a long thin flat-head screwdriver and Windex. Worked like a charm. I also had the anti-vibration rods on my existing setup and needed to give those up- new bar ends already have plugs in them and I didn't want to mess with them.

Other thing I could not figure out but it worked out anyway was the grove/hole in the bar to secure the control boxes. I located them in the same position as the old bars but never felt them lock in or anything. They're still secure but wish I knew how these were suppose to be used properly.

Watch all of the cable ends where they go into the control boxes while you are setting everything. I pulled a few too much and needed to reseat the cable covers. I also had to think through how I was going to route the cables under, over and around the Easy Riders. At first I put the risers parallel but wanted the bars further back so I rotated them about 45 degrees forward. Presto! (for me anyway). I ratcheted everything down and ave them a test run.

On the run I went to the closest cycle shop to get a pair of bar plugs. The ends of the bars you cut will be exposed. Simple $1.29 plugs finish them off fine. Then I headed out for a longer ride to break them in- I really like the Easy Rider extensions: decent looking, pretty simple to install and really improve handling and my seating position (much better than the 2" block riser I had).:2thumbs:

Oh, and as far as how they impact my vision on the mirrors: no impact. I have the extensions for my mirrors but the bar ends fall in the same edge of the mirrors as before.

Thanks for the review.:2thumbs:

Post pics if you have them, I would like to see how far you were able to extend the bars rearward.

Curious to see what you used and where you got them. We haven't gotten around to the install yet, but will soon. It would be good to have everything we need in place to finish the install.
