There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. E087 GAS

Hey Dudes & Dudettes;
since we have over 15,000 members on this site, and we are spread throughout North America and beyond, i have a question for y'all....

Quick Trip (QT) gas stations: http://www.quiktrip.com/ have been opening up all around the Greenville, SC area... and today a visited the newest one that opened just before Christmas... of the 20 or so pumps, that have 4 that pump E087, for clarification: it means Ethanol ZERO. 87 octane, aka; REAL GAS...

Question: if there is/are QT stations in your local, are they also selling E087 gas? i'm wondering if Greenville is a TEST AREA... i'm hoping this stuff does not go away.... i paid $2.18 per gallon, versus $1.88 for the junky ethanol stuff... $0.30 is cheap insurance in my mind...

any info would be appreciated...

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all....

Sprouting Like Flies Around Garbage Cans

Dan, they're popping up around the Charlotte metro and suburban areas too. There was even an article in the weekend fish wrap about how the company is becoming very competitive locally. Wife and I stopped for gas at one in Huntersville a month ago. Staff was very courteous and service was exceptionally fast. Spyder was subject of a number of questions from patrons too. I'm sticking with the 93 octane.

Real Gas

QT's are all over Rock Hill, SC and selling alcohol free gas. Also, several other stations are advertising "Real Gas".

No "real" gas in NV and no gas available for less than $2.00 yet. If I remember correctly Premium Ethanol free gas was available in Tulsa, OK. Bought a tank and couldn't tell any difference.

A bit off the EO87.

We do not sell Ethanol gas here in Alaska. Just good ol gas. Usually available in 87, 88.5, and 90 octane. I use 90 whenever/wherever I can. Outlying areas may not have it. Just one refinery, so everyone's brand comes from the same place. Pricing is a dime higher for each grade (in most places). The lowest pump price last I looked (one week ago) was 2.88 for 87 octane. I am guessing 2.85 now.

Performance wise, I do notice a difference if I am not using the 90 octane. A little bit more sluggish with lesser octane. This has been true over all five :spyder2:s'.

Because they can. :roflblack::roflblack: Sorry, that's my best answer on this one.

I am looking at it as a temporary deal--compared to a summer ago. I paid $4.95 for premium in Seward.

Bummer..!!

we are fat free here. So we have to add sweetener to our fuel. There are a few that sell racing fuel which is great but way to expensive. So 91 and sea foam and she has been purring like a kitten....

Price?

Did I just see that New York gas prices are the same as Alaska and you guys are $ 1.00 cheaper?, I hate ny state and can't wait to move south , this is a crossover from another forum I belong to......FUAC

Here in Cumming Ga we have a Racetrac that has ethanol free gas but it is only 87 octain but my harley accully runs better on it than the watered down 93. its been open for a few months now they advertise it as watercraft and mower fuel lol

I have never had any trouble finding ethanol free gasoline here in North Alabama. I just have to hunt a little. They charge a premium for it though. I don't use it because I don't think there is very much difference one way or the other. Engine manufacturers have now had decades to design their engines to work well and not disintegrate with a gas/ethanol mix.

Don't get me wrong. I am 100% against the diversion of corn from food uses to fuel uses because it makes food and especially meats cost more and does absolutely nothing positive for the nation's fuel supply.

AMEN, in spades. I read somewhere that "it takes more energy to produce ethanol than is contained in ethanol." Just that one statistic is enough to prove the folly of it, without even considering that other little fact: it is uneconomic without the government subsidies behind it.
Typical "gubmint" intelligence at work. :gaah:

So, IMHO, with the present oil glut there is NO justification for ethanol.

Some QT's in Kansas have had the E087 for over a year. The test for all QT is KS and OK, they are based in OK...

here in texas qt's are all over the place but i've never seen any E087 at any qt wish it would start soon here. but on the theory of real gas once on a r/t stopped 3 different places for fuel all had real gas but i never saw or felt any milage difference or running performance so i went back to 93 octane.

the main "JUSTIFICATION" for ethanol is really pretty simple.... rich members of congress schemed with their "good ole buddys" and put them in business making ethanol while they get huge kick-backs to line their pockets... end of story...

COULD NOT AGREE MORE!!!

All of the gas on the LEFT coast is at least $1.00 a gallon higher than anywhere else in the US. Non-ETOH gas can be found out here, but only with difficulty. I think they would demand 100% ETOH, if they thought they could get away with it. I'm also sure they are wisely using the tax money to install more charging stations along the I5 corridor, so you can drive up the coast in your Tesla, or E-powered Spyder (plan on a 3 day trip tho).

Diesel is a $1.00 a gallon more than gas, and still just under $4.00 a gallon in many areas out here.

Non-ETOH gas made a huge difference in my 2010, but I haven't tried it in my 2014 yet.
