There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Dumb Question Regarding Spyder Rally's

Nice thread.

I am new to the Spyder platform. Have been riding HDs for several years and decided to make the switch. Since the switch, I do not know anyone else who rides 3-Wheel cycles and I find myself riding alone. How many people show up at rally's riding solo? Do most people go with friends who ride? Just wondering. I would like to attend a few rally's this next season, but don't want to be "that guy.) :yikes:

I ride to the rallies alone and make friends there. I don't know about other brands' rallies, but I've found the Spyder crowds to be very friendly and open to meeting new people.:spyder: I've always appreciated that I can just walk up to a table of folks and ask to join and I'm always welcomed. :chat: Going to Spyderfest, for example is like hanging out with 1,000 of your closest friends you didn't even know you had! :ohyea:

Patti,
Remember when you and I met?
It was at the Vendor village...
Roger was underneath the front end of my bike: tightening up the Swaybar end link...
Good times!

What part of Virginia do you live? There are lot's of Spyder Ryders in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Northern VA) area with a couple of Spyder groups on Meetup.com. They get together for group rides, weekend trips and sometimes extended trips.

that guy

I live in Knoxville, generally start alone, but almost always meet people that are like minded and we end up connecting.

Personally..... I like riding alone or with one close friend who has similar levels of experience and riding style.

My dream would be for my wife to get a Spyder and ride along....but I may be to worried about her too.

Group ride if you like, but RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE. If you were ever in a group ride that went bad....you will know what I mean.

Safety is #1 next to even the fun factor.

Yes, I do remember! Since you'll be buying me dinner at the next 'fest you'll definitely be coming, right?

Thanks

Thanks for the update. I live in Northern VA just outside of DC. I've been doing a lot of research and web searching - found several groups in the area. I think I will link up with some of them. I definitely want to hit up SpyderQuest later next year. Hope to see some of you on the open road. If you see a Cognac STS with VA plates that say "CBRNE" that's me.

Thanks again, everyone.

10,000 miles

I'm a member of club, but many times scheduled trips didn't work with my schedule.
so: sometimes I follow them second day
for rallies, I ryde solo and meet my group there
And best of all, solo Ryder for 1500 miles, less than halfway, like me you will meet Spyders and your memories and friends will be bigger and bigger and bigger...
Two third of my 10,000 miles are solo Ryder, just to start, then solo ryde will be a history...

I'm a solo rider by choice but enjoy not being a solo parker. I like to ride to places where other riders hang out. I rode to the rally solo last weekend and made new Spyder friends every time I stopped. Had it been my intention I could have easily spent the weekend riding with others as I have found Spyder riders to be a very friendly and welcoming group. With a little effort I don't think you will ever have to ride solo.

We actually get invited to come. I think it's my wife out going personality. It was a little awkward at first but then I realized that everyone is there for the same reason.
No one cares, and the Spyder draws more of a crowd than the show bikes that are there. Lot's of questions and curious looks.

My husband and I were both prior HD riders. Don't ever worry about being "that guy" . There are many single riders. You can always post that you will be going to a rally and meet up with other riders on the way. Hope to meet you at Spyderquest next year.

Welcome to the Spyderlovers website. I too recently, as May 2015, converted from two wheels to the Spyder. I also do a lot of lone riding because I have yet to connect with anyone riding in the Hampton Roads area of VA. Correction have yet to see anyone when I am riding my Spyder. I have connected with the DMV Spyder group and met some good people. Due to distance and family I have not ridden with the group. If you are ever in the Hampton Roads area on your spyder give me a heads up via PM and I will ride with you. That also applies to anyone on this sight as well.

I've ridden to all the Spyder rallies but one (Durango 2014) by myself. Usually arrive at the event and visit will friends that I'm met at previous events and also make new ones? Looking forward to meeting Cruzr Joe again for the 4th time at the next event 😁
