• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dumb Question - I call Bull

I bought my Spyder through a vehicle dealership (GMC - long story). Unit had 1000km on it. I asked the salesman if it had the 1000km service done on it. He called the local BRP dealership and they told him not to bother doing the service until a light comes on to tell the owner it is time. I call bull on this - is there a light that comes on to indicate time to do the service on the Spyder? I have the oil change kit and am ready to do the service, but just don't want to do it until I have too, but my gut tells me that there is no dummy light and to just do it.

Would be interesting to know who the dealer was to told you to wait for the light to come on....
Would go a long way to the competence of the dealer!

Cheers
Doug

Let's see... trusting the words of a car salesman........ ;)

Bet he never even called a dealer.

I'd change the oil and check everything else asap just to be on the safe side....

Bull if the statement is true.

Firefly also has a valid point.

I would recommend checking with the dealer yourself--before we send them down the road as incompetent.

Welcome to the site.

Teddy & I would like to say Congrats & Welcome to the SpyderHood

:agree: & if I were you, I'd personally call your closest Spyder Authorized Dealer & give them the VIN# from your new (to you) Spyder so they can run it thru their BUDS system & check to see if all the required BRP Recalls/Safety Bulletins have been done on your machine.

You'll find this site is the :firstplace: place on the WWW for anything and everything Spyder related. :congrats: & :welcome:
