• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Exactly what are they aligning when you guys talk about this.

Then once I understand what this is, how often is it performed

And one more is this a Base BRP type of adjustment or something that is outside the BRP Maintenance

TIA.

Exactly what are they aligning when you guys talk about this. It is a wheel/front end Alignment

Then once I understand what this is, how often is it performed Unless you mess it up probably should not need a realignment for quite a while

And one more is this a Base BRP type of adjustment or something that is outside the BRP Maintenance This is in addition to whatever BRP requires.

TIA.

Well....

Laser alignments on spyders align the rear wheel with the front tires. Traditionally they aligned the fronts to the frame.

Unless you do any kind of work that could change these settings you should not need to realign. I do after tire ( rear wheel removal ) changes front and rear, and I have found it out of alignment.

Many shops now do laser and it is becoming the norm but considering the crating they should be checked after assembly. .. pretty much what he said :agree:

There is no such thing as a dumb question, only dumb answers. How else do you find anything out ?

Nitpicking just a bit. It is actually aligning the front wheels to the rear wheel.

Not nitpicking at all. This is a distinction that DOES make a difference. The traditional BRP alignment methods align the front wheels to the frame. If the frame or the rear wheel are off by a little bit, the alignment is not correct.
By aligning all three wheels to each other, you get a perfect alignment and the Spyder will track like it's on rails..

This is WELL worth the cost and effort in order to get the best performance out of the Spyder. If the wheels are out of alignment, the machine will wander all over the road and the tires will wear out prematurely. If the alignment is very bad, it's like getting caught in the strong buffeting behind a very big truck. Not only is riding no longer enjoyable, but it's exhausting. At it's worst, it can cause skid marks in your shorts. DON'T ASK ME HOW I KNOW THIS.

In short, if you haven't got a laser alignment, GET ONE.
