• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Dudley and Jennifer's 10,000 Mile Journey Blog

Just a suggestion, you're pretty close, so take I-81 north to Alexandria Bay, NY, and check out the Thousand Islands, then back south and check the Erie Canal State Park. Been to the islands many times, and keep hearing good things about the park.
Keep up the dailies, and the pics, really good stuff!

john
Thank you, we'll see where we are when we are and all that. Experiencing a bit of overload at present.

Internet stopped working when it was my turn to post; this was Friday July 24. Met up with John and Barbara in the Berkshires; beautiful drive even while wearing our Froggs and 2 jackets and long sleeved shirts. Views were wonderful, too bad as the driver Dudley doesn't get to see all the things I can see. He gets to look at the pictures and sometimes comments that he hadn't seen "that".
We had coffee with Jamie in Salem, NH before we took off for the Berkshires. Jamie I don't remember 2 people in the Lair but where'd that arm signing behind us come from? Thanks for your company.
Back to Berkshires; I am in ramble mode here. Followed John home from the pick up point where we had tea and talk with wife Barbara; then we went to eat at Michael's-a Greek/Italian restaurant. That was interesting because I don't remember ever doing Greek. I had eggplant (I love that anyway; thought it was Cajun, lol) but the strange sauce which I can't spell was more than I could take. Dudley ate all of his; I did have some of the spaghetti though.
Meeting up with Kim, Lou, Mike, John and Barbara in an hour or so. Hopefully pictures will be good cause yesterdays didn't do well.
Later.

the arm must have been a ghost or maybe nick that works here he is small might not have seen him :roflblack:

On their way home

OK, just left Dudley and Jen on their way west through NY, and HDXBONES, Smylinacha, and RoadDog2 on their way south through NY.

HDX said that Smylinacha wasn't angry about me making her get up early to meet us, but I didn't believe him and I brought her a peace offering...

They have all the better (although less, uh..."politically correct") photos, but I'll just post these few:

That's RoadDog at Mr. Donut (where else?!) and the next are Dudley and Jen who had to get a photo of the moose (complete with flame paint) and sidecar.

First day in ages I've ridden in decent weather--The Connecticut and California folks were definitely good luck as far as the weather gods are concerned!

Thanks for a relaxing day, Lou, Kim, Mike, Dudley and Jen!

Finally settled: in Herkimer, NY at the Passport/Glen Inn. EVERYTHING was full until Syracuse, NY according to 3 of the places in which we stopped. There is an Irish festival of sorts, football hall of fame swearing in and something else I can't remember. It is just short of 10 PM and my mind is in a fog.
Wonderful, gorgeous sun today!!! I was even able to shed both jackets and let my skin feel the sun and breeze. John came to get us at the motel-minus Barbara I'm sad to report (missed you Barb), then we rode off to meet up with the CT people. We met at the doughnut place and got a fix then headed off to Mount Greylock to view trees and valleys and flowers and and and......Really, was a wonderful ride. The communities we went through have some very old and massive houses. The landscape of mown and plowed fields is a delight to the eyes; and it goes on for miles and reaches way up into the hills. We went to the very top to get the view and see the awesome memorial-you'll see it to when I get the pics posted.
Being brief due to other duties right now. Thank all for such a wonderful time of sharing. Good of CT to come down to visit and John for giving us his time and food and good weather and good friends and and...I'm going to miss you all.

I don't know how you guys do it. Joy and I are in our hotel room outside solvang after a 4 hour west coast Spyder run. 15 bikes made the run, missed you guys. I am doing this on my itouch. Ride safe ride fun

Like Jennifer posted, yesterday was spectacular. Mt. Greylock gave us an awesome view of the area for miles. I am glad all the ryders made it home all right. Today we will follow I-90 until the Buffalo, NY. Hopefully tomorrow we an experience the magnificence of the falls, then on to Michigan, through London and meet some of the ryders from that area. We have been on on the road for 35 days.

In Niagara Falls, NY and getting on tour bus in 10 mins. Later on here. Roaddog we are doing well. Love and hugs to all. May stay over another day here.

Plan Change for 7-27

Jennifer and I will stay in Niagara Falls, NY tomorrow (7-27). Our bodies need a day off from road. Will be back on the road on Tuesday. What's the travel time for going from Niagara to London, then to Michigan state line? We want to accommodate everyone we can. May work out to where we sleep soon after crossing into Michigan, then get a fresh start the next day.
We had a great time today at the falls. Used a shuttle to get us around. The driver was very informative and quite funny. We rode the Maid of the Mist boat and did the Cave of the Winds. WOW is the best way to describe it. Also saw the fireworks display tonight.

Got back from Niagara Falls a while ago and had to take a walk to satisfy a chip/soda fix.
What can you say? It was AWESOME!!:2thumbs::yes::firstplace: Worth every penny for the ease and leaving the work to someone else. Pictures will have to wait until tomorrow; should they have come out. Not sure which was the coolest (both brrr kind of), the boat ride or climbing the stairway where you get drenched? If you haven't been yet and will venture this way, take the time to check it out. We actually got a break on the hotel through the info service gal at the desk at the last stop before Buffalo exit; we've had so many hotels (ouch at the prices) this was only $49 and its one of the better that we have had-not a chain but a great place for us.
Talked to son this evening; he called about 30 minutes before our shuttle for Niagara came to get us, how was that for timing? Things are going well for him, he was eating some of the last of his candy from a previous care package. Safe and just letting time go by.
Our daughter is in the process of adjusting, her hubby left for Iraq this passed Tuesday so life will be different for her until she finds a groove. Of course, this has happened to many families so we add them to the list of so many to remember. Catch all tomorrow.
