• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dry Clutch Rattle

Completed my first oil change on our 12 RT-S. With the tupperware off and the oil changed, I started her up and she sounds much different with the plastic off. There was a noise coming from the engine that sounded just like a dry clutch Ducati. Guess I never noticed it when the tupperware was on. Have others heard this sound when the side panels were off?

Thank you!

Don't know..!!

about RT's but our RS makes no such noise. Seeing as they are the same base engine..aah!! but ours is a manual clutch so I can't speak for the semi's...hang in there those who know will be here shortly..!!

Thank you for the comments. To answer the questions, ours is a SM5 and the noise did not ever go away once the oil pressure was up and it was warm. I will take it out this weekend now that I have all the tupperware back on and see if anything is different.

Thank you,

Shake rattle and roll

Hoping your noise is just a normal vibration effect and nothing serious. Usually when I think rattle I start looking for loose heat guards and such. An old trick is to take a stick, broom handle works, place one end on the machine at various points and the other at your ear. You can isolate noises well with this. I have a stethoscope with a long metal rod attached to the pickup and this works wonders in listening to an engine to diagnose problems. Good luck!
