Congratulations to both riders! That's a lot of pavement pounding no matter which way you look at it.

But what puzzles me is that BRP puts a 25,000 Kilometer rider up with a 25,000 mile rider as if they are the same thing.

25,000 Kilometers is just over 15,500 miles. Not the same game, not even the same ball park.

I guess the message is, if you want to get more pins and get them a lot sooner, go with Kilometers, not miles.

I totally agree with you on this. The metric system is not the same as the english system. 25km is NOT = to 25mi. Regardless, congrats to Lamonster and Mark!!!:2thumbs::clap:

In all fairness to my Spyder Brother Lamont... He earned his 25K first, especially as he had to do it in miles and I, being a Canadian Ryder, got to do it in kilometers. But congratulations to everyone who gets out and rydes, regardless of how much or how little. For us, it's not about where we end up, but which roads we take to get there.

i use my pick up for work but i've been bitten very very very hard by spyder. i been just ryding to nowhere every chance i get and took couple of trips to vegas and san diego, santa barbara and i mostly take the long route and not the freeway. ryding takes me to a pleasant,calm,peaceful world kinda like fishing. now that i am older i dont ryde aggressive like i used to, now i just like taking back roads thru small downtowns and stuff.
i am surprised myself how quickly miles added up. but than again its 8:52pm here and i just came back in from ryding :yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

i stopped by my dealer to ask them something and he said he is still waiting for purge valve and i told him spyder had 5300 miles and i will be ready for 6000 mile service when it gets here. he just shook his head cause i just had 3000 mile service done on jan. 14

I totally agree and you are a great sport to take it this way.

It's not really how many miles you put on as much as how much you enjoy what miles you do ride. And I realize that BRP is trying to generate enthusiasm with all of this, and it's all good.

I hope to put some more miles on mine when (if) I get it back from Alcoa before Daytona comes along. I'm at just over 12,200 kilometers (I mean 7,600 miles).

:agree: it's no big deal and who got there first or if it was miles or kilometers. I've enjoyed the Spyder much more than I ever thought I would being a hardcore two wheeler guy.:doorag:

I was just going to post that you guys with 5,000 kilometers should apply for your 5K pin but then I read this so I'm not sure what they are doing now.:dontknow: It's kinda like the 2500 Premier Edition numbers

About Mileage Pins:
Pins are given to those owners who reach 5,000 K, 25,000 K, 100,000 K (or 5,000 miles, 25,000 miles, 100,000 miles).

How to Submit:
To submit pin applications, owners can go to Spyderryder.com and login using your username/password. Select the “my account” section, and click on the mileage jacket pin link on the lower left hand side.

You will be required to upload two pictures from your computer – one of your odometer and one of you with your Spyder!
