• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Droptail Traler Questions

I am thinking of buying a Droptail trailer to haul my 2016 F3-T. Is there anyone out there with experience with this trailer and a similar Spyder? What are the advantages and disadvantages? How well does the Spyder fit on the platform? Any problems? Please post pictures.

Droptail -- versatile

I haven't had occasion to trailer my F3-S on the Droptail I bought a while back from a Spyderlover, but it came in handy last month when I needed to bring home a new toy:Jackie embracing change.jpg

A 2014 Polaris mid-size Ranger JUST fits.
Loaded frontward, as in the picture, the tongue weight is about zero.
We had to fill up a cardboard box and also an empty charcoal bag with bricks, stuffed one at a time into the small space between the rock guard and the Ranger. Once weighted properly, it pulled like a dream.

Hello,
Just picked my Droptail up in Sierra Vista ,Az. Chose the dealer because has a good rep. for Spyders. They pulled trailer into back lot, not prepped, dirty. No help on operation of trailer. The service manager drove by helped pull to my tow vehicle. Apologized for not having trailer prepped because lack of personnel. Parts guy quit before my deliver. Hope the certified spyder techn. is still there. Anyway, after reading manual , system works nice for loading /unloading. Only problem so far is when you lift back deck to decrease length, the built in ubolts are badly aligned ,making securing in that position difficult. The service at factory is deplorable and difficult to reach anyone. However, the RTL fills the trailer nicely and hold downs are numerous but still working on one strap tie down over rear wheel. Also, going to modify, so can haul kayaks on side. Still the best option for limited space. Didn't feel that Kendon was as easy to load as the Droptail. I haven't seen the new Kendon in person. This trailer works well for space limited individuals , but seems some manufacturers go in business to go out of business. Hope this helps. I would still recommend buying from a dealer who is familiar with the product and can help with any warranty issues.

Are you using wheel chocks on the front? Is there enough room for this?

Drop tail chocks

No I'm not using chocks. Investigated spyder chocks made in Canada but only a few left for sale. The distributor was helpful but I was not sure of compatibility. I've ordered from Canada before and if you get the wrong product ,return is problematic because of shipping cost. The Droptail rep. was not particularly helpful and seemed to say chocks were not necessary and their chocks would not work with spyder. Due to numerous tie down points and fixtures, I don't think chocks are necessary, but still working on my method of securing. Other members have posted, especially the couple from Minnesota that was helpful to me.

I have hauled my 12 RT on my drop tail many times. With the hitch on the RT, the small ramp gate will not close at the normal 90 degree angle but there are 2 more locking points so it is not an issue.

The trailer pulls very easy loaded or unloaded. Recently returned from a bike week event that I put over 100 miles on it.

The drop tail chocks will not work with the RT but there are many tie down locations.
