• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dropping a tree Between the buildings

Some times, it works right. Other times ??????
I worked for a tree company before I went in the USAF. We used to put a stake in the ground and try to hit it with the tree.
One time (back in 50's), it did not work well. A huge old (and rotten) pi.. elm next to main power line. Used the notches, wedges and even had two trucks with ropes tied to the top of the tree. Tree twisted 90 degrees and fell on the power line and poles. Pulled trucks backward and by the way, knocked a town of about 50,00 people out of power just after 11 in the morning. Enugh said.

It is a science, and simple to compute  . . . except when insects and rot have eaten away the inside of the tree :yikes: . . . then it becomes a crap shoot !

The only thing that I could guarantee when felling a tree...

...That with enough rope, manpower, 2-stroke fuel, wedges, hammers, and vehciles to pull; EVENTUALLY, it'd find some Terra-Firma to land upon! :D

...Somewhere!! :yikes:

Been done before

If a tree falls in the concrete jungle, and no one is there to hear it, does the Timber yell Lumber?
