• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just purchased a used Drop-Tail trailer to transport my RTS. Any one using one or have any tips on hauling the Spyder with this trailer?

Are you talking about a "Beaver tail" or simply drop down loading ramp? On the beaver tail the back part of the trailer slopes down to decrease the loading angle. Never heard of a drop tail trailer.

I have one. When you lower it, raise it back up a pump or two and it will load a lot easier. I have Diamond R floor boards and with the cross member, mine rubs at the hinge point unless I do this. Sorry no pictures.

Nice!

Congratulations on your purchase!
I've been considering a Droptail trailer for some time now. I hear that they work great for Spyders. I just don't know if I'd actually get the use out of it to justify the expense. I've been keeping an eye out for a used one, but they are rare to find! I've never heard anybody complain about theirs, that's for sure! Good luck with it!

I always used 3 2x6's to help on the loading and unloading if the area is not level you might pinch the front end, but the DropTail trailer is great.

We have one and it work great.
I used the 2 chocks that came with it but had to re-position them for the Spyder.

i will send a picture tonight

Ride safe.

IMO you could buy two or three utility trailers with a ramp gate for the same price, and use them for a whole lot of other hauling jobs as well. The DropTail strikes me as being an awful lot of mechanism to solve a not very complicated problem! Now, if you are physically limited in your ability to raise a ramp gate but can handle pumping a jack, then this looks like a very good solution.
