There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Driving in 1st

I live 1.5 miles from a Walmart and the speed limit is 25 mph to get there.
Will I have a problem driving in 1st gear all the way to and fro?
Thanks in advance.
Love the site and appreciate you guys.

I never shift until at least 4500 so in town it's 1st or 2nd. Seems to get better mileage at higher rpms

Well..!!

being an se5 you should stay in first if your obeying the law. Is that the only way..?? I would go the long way and enjoy the ryde. Mile and a half at 25mph I would take the car unless your going on to fun places....

CAR??? :yikes:

Your profile says 2012 RTS. The 998 engine loves high revs so that 25 mph would be ball park at the top of the shift point (5000+ or so).

We have two blocks of country road till I have a stop sign to enter a 45 mph road. Always use just first gear. Likewise in town when driving in traffic that is under 30 mph. It seems strange at first, but that is actually what the :ani29: likes.

Personally, I'm shifting to second on that run. Even though the rpms are lower, the load on the motor is minimal.
Either way is fine though.

just keep the RPMs over 3500 to protect the clutch plate from early burn out.

That would be right about where I'd grab second gear...
You'll still be above 3500 rpm... that's where things get locked-up nice and tight!

Just took a ten mile run back and forth down the lake shore to an event yesterday, 35 mph speed limit and a nice view of the water. Set the cruise at 34 in second gear and the wife and I enjoyed the trip there and back, and the event (les miz-community theatre) as well. Keep the engine in it's "happy zone", that matters more than the number on the gear.
