• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Have to cancel all of Spyderfest. Dealer has to pull motor, replace sprocket, etc. etc., etc. Wondering if Canada has the lemon law at this point.

Very sorry to hear this. Yet another. I'm not getting a good feeling from my drive line these days either. There is a noise developing from what sounds like the tranny. It's a high pitch whine that was not there before. What were your symptoms?

Sorry to hear of the troubles. As you may or may not know, BRP released information last year suggesting a re-torque with new torque settings for the front sprocket on the Spyder RS/GS and RT.

Not sure of the problem you are seeing here, but it may be worth your while to see if the Dealer had performed or was asked/instructed to perform this maintenance.

More information on this can be found here, in the hopes that it will help:

Cheers and I hope all works out as good as possible.

May just be the belt is too tight. I had a whine from mine when I got it until I adjusted the belt to the new spec.

Thanks for the info Sam. Not sure what the situation was for Killer Bee, but in my case, unfortunately, I just had tires put on and a drive line service performed not even 2 months ago. That was @ 11,000. We are now @ 13K. It'll have to go back at some point very soon for another look, but I don't have a good feeling about this...

:dontknow:
Shot in the dark here, Check to see if your belt is rubbing against the rear sprocket flange,
If it is that will cause an annoying whine.

Very good suggestions. I had a problem after the belt had been adjusted to the new tension. Keep an eye out for any oil leaks on the left side of the engine "around the drive sprocket area".:yikes: Hope it is just the belt out of alignment or something else simple. Luckily we were near a dealer that knew what they were doing(Rice Honda in Rapid City, SD:bowdown:) and got us back on the road on the way home, 1100 miles away. Carlo with BRP Customer Service was fantastic and helped us to keep our sanity:clap::2thumbs:

My front sprocket and belt have been replaced as well, and luckily we caught it before any engine damage was done. Mine developed a very high pitched whine, and it was rubbing against the outer flange of the front pulley. I have a thread on here about it: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25425

BRP will take care of this issue under warranty, and since it is the first occurence there will not be any reason to attempt to look into lemon laws. Let them figure out what went wrong and get it fixed for you. It does suck that you will be missing Spyderfest because of it. Hopefully they will get you back on the road soon. Best of luck.
