Drilling mufler

If I used a foot long 1" drill bit, into both muffler exhaust outlets, could i deepen the sound of my F3? or at least get it louder?
Anyone have an audio on this?

Have you installed the bypass pipe or the pipe/muffler from Pitbull? The bypass pipe will give you a deeper tone. The baffle will muffle it down some if too loud.

It's hard to try and deepen the sound of 1330 .

1330 poor sound. not a twin

This is my twin mod. It has a deep tone, boomer if you will. Cut the small end pipe out then welded 1 and 5/8 id outlets. Flipped buffler over cut a piece out and removed the pipe mess then welded the cut out part back on. This gives a large expansion area and with larger pipes better flow. It does not have the high pitch noise you get with the stright thru glass pack muffler. Used grill high temperature paint. Cost $7.95 for pipe from Advance Auto. I cheat, as I have a plasma cutter and mig welder. I have not tried the 1330 muffler yet. The cat bypass and stright thru muffler are too high pitch for my liking. Good luck.:riding:

I have added 3 holes to my Vstar pipes, helped a little however I don't believe that you will get the same effect on the Spyder.

I've purchased a lot of Drill bits in my day and $ 6.00 for a 1 ft. long x 1 inch Dia. bit sounds a tad un-believable......Is this a " SPADE BIT " for Wood ???????.......................Mike :lecturef_smilie:

Or you could do what I did and chop the end remove what ever you want to fab up a new tail pipe and tig weld it all back up this one and others I have done now sound just like a $1400 muffler offered by BRP.

No, I am the sorry one. I shouldn't ridicule. I apologize. Once when I was 14, I did some goofy
exhaust mods to a beloved SL 350 Honda. There is really nothing you can mod, that can't be fixed
with money, if it doesn't turn out.

I once modified the exhaust by sharpening a piece of rebar and punching holes in the baffle back plate. Not onl my spyder, for that I got an R77 Yoshimura. The holes made a change in the sound but not a good sound...:banghead:

You may buy Lennox Bi-metal hole saws at Airgas, welding and industrial gases.

I like your mod. Did you fab the tip or is it off the shelf. Fabricator = one who makes stuff you do not have.:roflblack: My dealer gave me a muffler and told me to see what I could do with it. I still have the prototype. The one in mt pix is the final product I run now. Did you open the bottom and free flow yours? I love keeping the naysayers in a tiff. Ride on!:riding:
