• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Drift HD & Sidekick

Some months ago I participated in one of the Kickstart projects so that Light & Motion could bring a new product to market. The product was the Sidekick that would work with a GoPro Hero camera.

About a year ago, someone posted on here that Best Buy had an online one day sale of the Drift HD camera. So, I jumped on that deal and bought one. I had a first generation GoPro Hero camera that crapped out on me. I never knew when the camera worked or recored even anything until I would try to download the card. Lots of times I had nothing!

My Sidekick finally arrived a couple of weeks ago after several months of waiting. Light & Motion had 1000 project sponsors so it was a matter of them getting mine built and shipped....first come basis.

I ordered a Drift suction cup mount for my camera so I could use the adapter parts in the Sidekick to attach them together. This is so that I would have way to hand hold both while using the Sidekick video light with my Drift camera. I had to shorten one part so the adapter screw would reach the threaded hole in the Sidekick. This is the result of pairing of the units:

Nice job. I would really like to see some video samples when you get a chance. No pressure, not in a big hurry but sometime tomorrow would be good.:roflblack:

Sidekick and Side-Kick. There is a hyphen....so they are different .

I use the Drift on the Spyder without the light. The light would be used in situations most likely not mounted? I can use both underwater as I have the underwater housing for the Drift camera. As is, the Sidekick is rated down to 60 meters.

Well done..!!

,looks like your ready to go..:popcorn:'ing to see some awesome footage...
