• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Was on our first long trip in Nathez Mississippi on my 2014 RTS .on our way back stopped at a gas station the bike would not start (4th time I has this DESS fault) 2 hours later after many many attempts to start with both keys call a tow truck .12 hours later we finally made it home my bike spent a month in the shop it started on its own a week later ..But I refused to except the bike back until they change the Dess modular, because I brought it to the shop a month earlier for the same problem (reprogramming the keys is not the fix.) it's working fine now with the new modular.heading to Florida in a week hope I don't have anymore starting problems.Bike only has 2000 miles..

I had the D.E.S.S Module replaced and the keys reprogramed last month ( July) and I have not had a problem, Go to my ( Deanna777's) thread" PICTURES OF D.E.S.S KEY CODE ON A 14RTS-SE6" The D.E.S.S. module is under WARRANTY...........

If it happens again, take pictures and go to your dealership. They have to fix/ and replace the D.E.S.S. module. Deanna

Bummer..!!

shame your dealer didn't fix the problem properly the first time. This is a known problem with a solution. Problem seems to be they can only fix it when it fails..guess they don't know which ones are bad...:banghead::banghead: you should be fine

I'm having a hard time believing that the DESS units don't have serial numbers and BRP doesn't know which serial numbers went into which bikes and which serial numbers were part of the bad batch. If that's true, that's abysmal supply-chain management. How would they handle a true safety situation (say, the DESS modules had a risk of electrocution when inserting the key) if they can't track them?

Amateur hour

No problem. ..they change them all....as I see it you get a warning sort of. It fails but then works and you need to have it changed right away. A letter would be nice but then you know what happens...

Whew!

From the title of your post, I thought you were having a problem disrobing someone! The bike you can fix, but it you can't get that dress off........you've got a real problem!:roflblack:

Having a trouble with Dealer

I've had trouble with the DESS error intermittently on my Spyder too. Made a appointment for my 9000 mile check up (before going on a 2500 mile trip) and to replace the DESS module. Gave them the part # to order so that they would have it in time for the service date. The dealer wants to charge me to take the module out... Told them it was under warranty. I feel that the dealer and I am caught in the middle. I can't trust my Spyder to start all the time and the BRP is saying it's not their problem.... Very frustrating:banghead::banghead::banghead: Any suggestion on resolving this matter with the dealer????

"Dreaded dress caution light"

 What exactly were you wearing?
:lecturef_smilie: Miniskirts and golf shoes are NOT acceptable in a formal dining situation!

As deanna777 has posted elsewhere, if you get the D.E.S.S. fault message, stop immediately and photograph it. Step 2, demand the dealer replace the module immediately. Step 3, if the dealer balks make them immediately open a case with BRP. Step 4, any BS from dealer about delay in completing replacement of module tell 'em you want a loaner. It it a known issue. Play polite hardball.

:agree: Use lots of tact.
Which is nothing more than the ability to tell someone to go to Hell...

...And have them looking forward to the trip! :D
