• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Nope for the Dragon - Yep on Hydroplaning :yikes: ...... I think Rt 215 is more challenging , and I like the Rattler better ..... jmho ....... If what you say is true, that's awful :( :( :( .... &    sent .......Mike

I was there 1 week prior to the spyder rally. A guy wrecked on a sport bike a minute or so in front of me. He landed about 15' down an embankment as the bike continued and hit a tree about 10' up from the base. During my run on the dragon on the saturday of the rally,i came across 3 car and 1 bike accident on the dragon. People got to respect the road, ride your own pace, and keep plenty of distance from the vehicle in front of you.

Yes, at least one death. Both bikes went over a steep 100 ft. ravine and they were not discovered for almost 24 hours.

Years past, a one year crash was found while looking for another one. Always tell people where you are going. There are many places that go way down, and yes could take a while to find you. Several ryders carry Find Me Spot or some other type locator. See ya...
:riding:

I've seen or heard of an accident every time I've been there. I had a lady in a Large pickup truck in front of me crossing the double yellows like crazy.. 2 feet over.. she did it about 15 times. She had her Morris folded in too.
Got to the bottom and noticed she pulled into the store. I had her roll her window down and gave her a piece of my mind. Told her that her kind of driving is what gets people killed and NOT to cross the damn lines!

What our group found when we ran the Dragon was that you had to more concerned with the crotch rockets trying to run a speed record and over-running you on a blind curve and hitting you from behind, and we are not slow riders. We personally liked the Devil's Triangle for turns and thrills better than the Dragon, more up / downhill switchbacks , sharper turns, unmarked turns, not many guard rails.....start sweating just thinking about it! safe riding

I will have to say, the Devil's Triangle is the scariest road that I have ever been on. I am glad to say that I did get to ride it, but will probably never do it again. There are a lot of roads in the area that are as good as the Dragon, but it is still worth a trip for me once a year.

Blacklightning, Did you run The Triangle the uphill or downhill way or both ? Its one of the few roads where when we were done I got off the bike and kissed the ground.....of course we could have slowed down but then what fun would that have been....right? safe riding!

I have no idea which direction we ran this road, but I will attempt to post a video of us running it. It definately kept the hairs up on my neck.

They were friends riding together. One of them hit the other from behind and they went 80 feet down the embankment into the trees. It was the trees that stopped them from going further down but also the trees that mangled them up. Weren't discovered for 24 hours and that was strictly by chance.

You can say what you want about the Dragon, and there are a lot of great roads out there to ride, but the Dragon has ZERO crossroads or driveways to worry about. Run it on a weekday and you will have very little traffic.

WELL - MAYBE
