• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any techniques or books or previous threads about drag racing? I'm taking my 2012 RS SE5 to Great Lakes drag away to get a timing. Thanx in advance.

I like to get on-site early, get my iced-tea and chips ready, and set the T.V, channel to..
Oh... :opps:
I consider dragracing to be a SPECTATOR sport... :D

Seriously: Ask Docdoru about this...

Can't imagine anyone ever racing a Spyder:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: What about you Lamont, have you ever heard of such a crazy idea?

When the lights go green hit the throttle full open and start punching the gears. Don't back off the throttle just keep changing gears at at least 6,000 rpm. Oh and hang on!

DRAGS

Did my first " oraganized " LEGAL type Spyder drags at Spyderfest 2013......I had mostly good reaction times on a 2012 stock RT ......If you have an SE , I would try and keep as much weight as far back as possible.....and Shift at 8000 with full power on......If you have an SM .....wel good luck Mike

Bob where did you get that message from what I wrote ? ? ?.......................My reference to the SM was >>>>I have NO ADVICE to give because I didn;t use one this year ! ! ! ................Spyderfest 2014 will be a different story :yikes:  :2excited:......Mike

Sounds like a challenge to me.

Looks like I will be a Byron Raceway this coming weekend on my Spyder. Not racing just helping a Supercomp buddy.

OMG, I sure miss her ...............she really was a great commediene ( can't speel to-nite )........But you get the idea ....Mike

Hang on..!!

that part comes natural...keep it in the power band and max Rpm's each gear. You don't want to drop below and have to pick up the loss..good luck, pic's and results are expected..!!

I'm told SE's are quicker than SM's. Is that true?

All things being equal they are most likely the same but with an SM you have to be right on with the clutch and shifting. The SE will clutch automatically so a beginner would have a better chance at good reaction times from second gear on up. An SM may be quicker off the line though. It's so close that its really whose riding the bike that's moreimportant

What is the perfect rpms to push the shift button? The bike makes peak torque at 5,000 and peak horsepower at 7,500 correct? (Talking RS). So where do you ideally want to shift? If the numbers I listed are correct, I would disagree with an 8,000 rpm shift. It would have to be somewhere between the peak rpm & peak hp:dontknow:
