DR Buck's 2012 RT Limited Mods

I love the Oil Pressure Gauge & Volt Meter Mod. IS this an after market add-on that can be ordered?
If not is there a post somewhere with instructions on how to do it?

Thanks,
Bob

Cat bypass with Stock Muffler

Dr Buck, I enjoyed meeting you at the BBQ. Thanks for letting me hear what my RTS SE5 will sound like with the Cat Bypass and stock muffler. Sounds great and with less heat. Thanks again. Richard:clap:

Flush Mount Turn Indicators

Hi,
Just wondering where you obtained the led indicators on your mirrors? I too have difficulty seeing the indicators in the dash.

Added a few more mods in recent weeks. The most significant was installing 2-way ham radio. The radio I installed was the Yeasu FTM-10R. It's a bluetooth capable dual band VHF/UHF radio designed for motorcycles and ATVs. I installed the main chassis in the frunk and the control head on the original GPS mount on the handlebars. The antenna was installed in the unused mounting position opposite the factory radio antenna.

I also installed a cup holder on the dash using RAM mount hardware. It works well, does not block gauges and does not swing when steering as it is not on the handle bars.

I will post pictures in the near future.
Waiting for picture and how you install the antenna I'm looking how I will install mind

After a few tries I found that only a 1/2 wave would work due to no ground plane. I used the Diamond HRKS stick on mount trimed down and stuck over the unused antenna mount location with the wire feeding into the opening. To make sure it stayed put I put some of the 3M tape activator on first. You can adjust the antenna angle to match the factory radio antenna.

I'm planning on adding a Yaesu FTM-10 to my RT-S also, what kind of antenna did you use? Looking at the rear of your bike I don't see any exposed antenna at all, or are you just using for it's bluetooth/am/fm?

Digital Oil Pressure Gauge & Volt Meter

Hey Dr... Where did you find the Digital Oil Pressure Gauge & Volt Meter? Once installed, Did your fuel gauge show up in the digital display window automatically or did you have to make some adjustments? Thanks, Reggie

Gauges came from http://prosportgauges.com/. You will also need the T connector to install the oil pressure.

Here is the tee you need:
Company name British American Transfer Inc.
Phone number (941)355-0005
Part number TPVW gauge tee 10MM x 1.0 $12.50

Some have screwed the 10mm male in to the block, screw the oil line with compression fitting from the gauge into the 1/8" NPT in the side and the stock warning light sender into the 10 mm female and done. Some have also had high pressure hoses made with 10mm male in one end and 10mm femail on the other to mount the 'T' elsewhere so it is not hanging directly from the engine block. I had a 18" hose made. Search the forum for more info on the oil pressure mods.

When you disconnect the factory gauges, the digital 'gas' and 'temp' come on the multi-function display. You must disconnect both for it to work.

I'll post updates in the next couple days.

Had to update my list on post #1 again.

Had to update my list on post #1 again. Soon I'm going to run out of space to put stuff, or money.
:roflblack:

Forgot to add the Diamond R floorboards and luggage rack when I put those on. I also installed a dual USB charging port on the right from speaker grill to plug my GoPro camera and phone into. Then just yesterday I completed the headlight and fog light replacement with HIDs. While at it I installed a new fuse distribution box (FZ-1) under the left side top panel.

With the air filter kit, has your gas mileage increased since your install? Also, Has the CAT Bypass made anything significantly different?
