• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for some advice on what triggers the DPS and then limp mode on my 2012 rt.All I was told was to turn off and remove key for about 10 minutes and it will reset it self.

Best way to know what might be causing it is to pull the error codes and look them up.

Do you know how to pull codes?

Bob

I know how to pull codes and when I did that after I went into limp mode there was no code after turning off.

You have to pull the codes BEFORE you turn off the Spyder or they are gone from that display because they are not "active faults" anymore.
Once you turn it off, those codes are then logged into the Spyders memory and the only way to retrieve that history is with BUDS.

So you have to pull codes BEFORE turning the Spyder off.

I had Limp Mode come up twice in the first week I had my Spyder. I believe i had my foot touching the brake without knowing it. I did the Key Walk which cleared it out. Now I make sure my foot is way back on the peg and it hasn't come up since. I also have a 2012 RT

When my DPS started acting up last fall I didn't get any meaningful codes even when the DPS fault screen came up. Ended up replacing the DPS under warranty. It turned out to be defective.

As I see it..!!

the dps works or it dosen't. There are some adjustments the dealer can check with buds but I would start by checking by vin# if you are in the range of faulty units. If not have the dealer check it it still may be bad. The key walk will only clear codes reset computers and if its a glitch you will be good to go. If it persists you will have to have it checked..
