There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. DPS replacement Broward Motor Sports

I had the:spyder2:there by 9a.m. Checked out at 11:15. Guess they work faster when not charging $100 per hr. labor. i didn't notice much difference in the handling.

I finally got the call from my service department Action Jet Sports of Bradenton.
They replaced the DPS and did some other service checks that I asked them to look into this last Saturday.
I must say that I didn't think I was having a problem with the original DPS, but I took it in for the recal. NOW I DO notice with the new DPS that when cornering it is much smoother and I don't get that catch that I now realize was happening. It was ever so minor, but now that it doesn't do that any more I really can tell the improved difference.
Action did an excellent job for me of installing some zerks, checking on some of the items that were reported as problems here in this board, and doing some minor service all under warranty with no cost to me.
Action Jet Sports of Bradenton gets high marks from me for their service.
Have fun and ryde safe C-YA RL

Don't take them off yet. It could just need the steering sensors calibrated, which only requires hooking up to BUDS. It is pretty common for the dealers to fail to properly reset the sensors after a DPS change.

DPS steering changed out

I received a recall notice for the steering DPS, I sent an E-mail to the Spyder service center where i bought my Spyder.

I received back a answer right away, from the owner to get my spyder in, they had a DPS there, they did not have to order it. I was quite surprised that they had it available.

I brought it in the very next day that they were open they installed it plus a drip rail for my Trailer, both were under warranty, and they had them both.

I was very happy about that:ohyea:

BUT, When i rode the Spyder, granted it was only for about 5 miles, but those were the most enjoyable 5 miles I have had on my spyder.

That is why my spyder only has 2,400 miles I hated to ride it. That was before, i am excited to get back on it and rack up some miles.

What a difference before & After I could not believe the Difference in the ride quality, No more rocking back and forth down the road, and No more over boosted steering, the bike handles much better.

The main problems that hated about the Spyder have been fixed.

Thank You Water World (my Spyder Dealer)

As of today I'm actually on my third DPS unit. I had the recall change back in late September. There was a world of difference in the steering even though I was not having steering issues like many with the original DPS unit.

I took my spyder out today and tested it after receiving it. It appears to be even more responsive than the second unit. Perhaps that is just in my mind. Bottom line is that this DPS unit as well as the second one installed in September made a world of difference.

I want to thank Seminole Power Sports, of Sanford, Florida, for really busting their tails to get my spyder back on the rode. These guys were/are the greatest.

DPS

well i went back and they did a reset with out taking off the panels thought i was good drove 20 miles and the limp home check DPS came up call the shop and he said i installed 30 of these and never had a problem told me to bring it back in so i started heading home stop got some gas and re started it and the error was gone so i called the shop and he says well i have seen this before drive it for a while so... I headed home 10 miles half way home limp mode came on so i called them back his remarks was well you got a lot of things added to your bike... and i responed that its been like this for 2 yrs with no problem. re started it and it was gone again.I just got scared with the saftey recall so i did it and its never been right since. now he says take all the panels off and ill put another one in.. my question is........ has anybody ran into this problem? looks like they were looking for a way out and blaming on my mods witch i had it like this for 2 years!!! with no problem:dontknow:

why 3 changes of DPS were you having the same problem that i was having?

DPS

I am also having DPS problems. Have a 2011 RT-S with 577 miles and it is back in the shop for the 2d time for DPS/limp mode. I hope BRP gets a handle on this, I am ready to get out on the open road. We should all write to BRP and express our concern about this problem.

Good luck to all.

I'll try to answer as best I can. First, I wasn't having any problems with my original DPS. (2010, RT-S) I was quite satisfied with the way my spyder steered.

When BRP had their recall back in I think August or September of 2010, I felt that it would be prudent to have mine changed. Although I had not had any problems with the original, I felt the steering had improved significantly with the change. It was a "better ride".

I have no idea why a new DPS was done in my most recent incident. All I can say is that limp mode came up a couple of times within a weeks time and the "engine" ensignia came on the screen.

My problem was fixed under warranty, but I have yet to receive some kind of "work order sheet" listing just what was done. I will be getting with my dealer to have this. I like to keep a history of what goes on with my vehicles.
