• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. DPS issues

I've had problems with my DPS in the recent months and have taken it into the dealer to find out what is wrong. The DPS works intermittently and didn't throw a fault code before I took it in this last month. The dealer mechanic adjusted some of the sensors and when I got it back home my turn signal cancellation sensor was out of whack. So this past weekend I was scheduled to go on a poker run and only made it as far as 15 mile north of my home before I got a check engine signal on my instrument panel. I thought I could make it to the next rest area when I went into Limp Mode with a fault code of VSS. I got into the rest area, turned it off and everything seemed alright until another 5 miles north when I received another fault code of DPS. Again I went into Limp Mode and decided to turn back toward home. This happened again on my return to home and again I pulled off the side of the road, shut down and restarted the engine with no codes.

I'll be taking it back to the dealer this week and hopefully getting the DPS to correct itself. The first time I was there, I didn't have any fault codes; now this time I do and the dealer tells me he doesn't think he can get it back to me within a week. I'm planning on taking it with me on an annual camping trip on Oct. 2. Any ideas as to what is happening with the DPS at this point? I've gone in and re-tightened the leads on the battery thinking maybe there was a short but they weren't too loose. Anything you can supply me with before I go back to the dealer (a two hour drive) as I trailer it since I never know how long they're going to keep it and I don't want to be stuck in Bakersfield for a week. Thanks in advance for you help...

If resetting the torque sensor, which I'm sure the tech would have done, didn't cure the problem then the DPS is bad. Mine was just replaced. Hope it's under warranty!

DPS Problem

I had a similar problem in early August. Was riding along when I suddenly got an orange screen and a message on the screen to "Check DPS." I continued a little further and the bike went into limp mode. Pulled off on a side road, shut the bike down, removed the key and moved away from the bike for a few minutes. When I re-started the bike the orange screen was gone and the problem hasn't happened again.

DPS problems certainly aren't as commonplace as they were early on with the RT but they still are not rare.. Our guesses really won't tell you much. One way or another the dealer needs to do something
