• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi Guys,

09 RS, SE5
1,- how to take off front right (where brake pedal is) peg bracket/assy ?
2,- how to remove rear wheel axle? - don't waste your time with description of jacking up and belt and stuff, all clear but can't find out how to actually remove the axle

as detailed as possible please, video or pics obviously tell more .....

Many thanks

Once you take the weight off of the back tire by jacking it up. Remove nut and cotter pin from the right side of the axle. Then you'll remove axle by pulling from the left side.

footpeg

thank you guys,
that exactly what i've done but no way to get an axle out at all:gaah:

anyone helps me with that footpeg bracket please?:bowdown::bowdown: - i know some guys here done even their own dipping,
i managed all three no problem but this one can't figure out no matter what.:banghead:

Because it's so darn wet over there you may need to WD 40 it for a few days just to loosen it up. Lots of WD and more patience.

Can't help you with the brackets......RT guy here. :(

If a rear wheel seal leaked, the axle may be corroded into the sleeve or bearings. In that case it is going to take some penetrant, possibly some heat, and possibly some force from the opposite side to remove it. Not a fun job...good luck!

what am i looking at on this link? :dontknow:

nobody around here with experience in removing front right foot-peg bracket?

IPB (illustrated parts breakdown) select your year an model, select the area you are working on, and study how it would come apart, or go together. Seems to be your only option....unless or until someone here decides to lend you a hand.

Wish I could offer more but like I said. Never worked on an RS. Good luck:doorag:

oh , i see, nice and neat, no foot-pegs even mentioned though
thanks J

The right front footpeg bracket is not going to be easy, trust me I have been through it on my 08 and I'm guessing your 09 is the same......

The two bolts on top will come out with no issues but the bolt to the left of the brake lines will not come out without removing your brake line. You guessed it....... you will lose your brake fluid and will have to have your brakes bled afterwards. Video below showing excactly what I mean.

If your taking the brake cylinder off for painting than bolts will have to be removed under the Spyder as video shows. Also, there are two micro switches you must disconnect and becareful not to to damage. I'm not sure what you mean by having it dipped but, IMO if your plasti-dipping it, I would tape everything off real good and paint it while it's on the bike. This peg bracket removal is harder than removing the handlebar cover or taking out the airbox. Good luck.
