• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Double adaptors for Farkles

If you're like me, suffering with the Spyder owners desease, "incurable acute Farkleitis", when fitting extra electrical farkles it's so hard to find a place to jump into a wiring loom, wouldn't it be good if there was a tyco connector double adaptor.
I've searched everywhere for one, doesn't seem to exist, so being a retired electronics service engineer, I set to it to make some, you can buy tyco plug sets on ebay for just a few dollars, so
"Enter the Tyco Double Adaptor"DSC00769.jpg It's a bit fidley getting the 2 wires into one end so I found soldereing was the best, but then most things I used to repair were designed to insult an engineers intelligence so this wasn't much of a challenge. If this already exists commercially I'd like to know about it.

TricLED has something like that included with their bumpskid LED kit. Not quite the same but similar. I looked for them online (the Y-adapter) but couldn't find them either. Maybe one of our more experienced D-I-Y members has a solution? Or TricLED - maybe tell us where you source yours?

I work for TE Electronics, used to be Amp, or Tyco Electronics. The company is so big(worldwide), the assemblies are not in my area. But you would know if you see them, would have a TE emblem on inside or outside, its an overlapping T&E. I did just put on a TricLed bumpskid, but didn't look at the plugs.

I think you missed the point, I didn't source them I MADE them, by hand. I would consider making them for other people but can't do large quantities.

I realize you made them by hand. I didn't realize you were willing to provide them to others. How much would you want for them?

As I said to Utagh Pete, I did not buy these, I MADE them by hand, I would consider making them for you guys but would have to sort out the best way of posting them as I'm in France and most of you are in US.
Maybe make a whole bunch and send them to one address and one of you distribute them.

let me know if anyone is interested and I'll give it some serious thought

We did realize you made them by hand and a very good job it is. I guess some thought you were still looking for a commercial source. Thank you for volunteering to make some, but I think you will be into large quantities pretty soon.

Cindy at TricLED told me they make their own adapters. They would consider making and selling them as a side product. How many folks would be interested?

It would have to be around 5 dollars each plus postage which I would have to calculate at the post office. I guess I could use paypal as you guys are in dollars and I'm in GBP, I'll see if anyone wants me to make them and test the pricce / postage to get a fair deal all round.

Anyone interested, best email me direct at [email protected] as I don't pay for advertising on this excellent website and I don't want to upset anyone.
