• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bought a 2012 BMW in 2012, advertised 4 years bumper to bumper total warranty coverage, not tires, but even windshield wipers. But after driving it off the lot, "sorry, this is a demo", so coverage started when we got the vehicle; minus 10 months of warranty. 3 years, 2 months need to get an extended warranty, Only 30K miles on it, $3750 Extended Platinum Policy, "Covers everything". Today, months later, inside blower failing, "Sorry, moving parts, Wear & Tear not covered, but the $2 resistor on the side covered".

I know quit whining, when $60K is petty cash, who cares?
 
Vehicle warranties usually begin at the "in service" date. "In service" means it is being used by someone, not necessarily the buyer. It could be a demo or executive vehicle. The dealer (in most states) can advertise the vehicle as "new" as long as it hasn't been registered. Once registered it is a "used" vehicle. If you are buying a "new" vehicle that has significant miles on it chances are the in service date will be much earlier than the date you take possession.

Now, if the dealer did not explain that to you, or it isn't written in the purchase contract you may have a case to sue the dealer for misrepresentation.

Yep, bought an extended warranty for 100K miles for my Toyota Prius because at the time I drove 90 miles round trip to work. Rear wheal bearings went out at 90K, repair would have cost me $685.00 plus 2-day car rental (had to order part), but with warranty it was only $50.00 :yes::yes::yes:

Did I mention the warranty cost me $1200? :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Unless if you have a piece of junk they are not worth it.
