• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Desert Spyder

Took my Ryde to the dealer for the recall yesterday, which is 30 miles away in the hot desolate Mojave Desert, hi's about 110+. Went to pick it up, drive about 5 miles on the freeway, cough, cough limp mode...VSS...DPS fault (dynamic power steering). Call the dealer, "I'm coming back". Put it on the computer, couple faults, put the steering dead center, computer says OK. They test drive, no problem. Start driving home, bam, exact same spot, limp mode, VSS, DPS fault. Sigh. Call again "I'm coming back, don't lock me out (it was nearing 6)". Leave the bike at the shop another night. They said they'll call Canada for solution. The steering felt fine. Has anybody else had problems after the recall fix?

Funny you should say that. It was on the freeway right in front of Taco Chon's in Victorville. Think I'll call the Air Force and have them look for alien life forms in the area. I think they're messing with my nanny.;)

Just climbed Red Rock (Canyon) last week...love that dry heat!!!!...much better than the east coast summers although this year we're doing well!

As far as your bike goes, good luck...sounds like a strange situation you have but it's good your dealership is handling the situation...

If your service tech respects ALL the steps from the bulletin (5-6 pages) in this case is something different.

:yikes: Hope they didn't rush this fix mine has been at dealer for Dps and throttle body problem and they said they did it while it's there. My:spyder:seems to get more of a break than I do:gaah:

Checked with the dealer about 2 hours ago, the bike is still having brain farts. They have contacted Canada several times. Each time they clear the error codes, test drive, and it comes back. What is this thing, a virus? BRP told them they might have to re-format. I know the Spyder uses modules but is there an operating system? Must have, otherwise you can't reformat. They better have it fixed by tommorrow. Plan to ride to Solvang. Already reserved a room.

Steering upgrade

I had mine uploaded yesterday and NO problems. It has been cool in the 70's here so I can't do a hot test.

Good news! :2thumbs:
My dealer just called and said the bike is ready.
They had to reformat after all. In addition they did the recalls on the coil ground and the GPS fix. And they took an extended test run. I don't know if they went by the Bermuda Triangle. Pick it up tommorrow. Solvang here I come.:ohyea:

Heat

You may check with Curtdowopman about heat related problems, as he said he had recall completed and is in vegas where temps have been in mid 100s the last week...
