There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Does this sound fishy to you

Sadly passed away, December '23.
Saw an ad for a 2013 Spyder RT limited. Brought new for $32,000. Has 290 miles and is being offered for $18,900. Why do you suppose someone would buy a brand new Spyder, put less than 300 miles on it and sell it for a $14,000 loss? If it sounds too good to be true, blah blah blah......

Caveat emptor (Let the buyer beware) is all I can say. If it's the real deal, go for it. But it does sound a bit scammy.

There have been many posted here for about the same $$$. Some buy them and find out they dont like them, want the newer year/model, some for medical reasons. Just need to do your research. Ask to look at all maintenance records.

The price is about right as listed for new. Due to heat issues, and bad publicity, the resale value for that model has come crashing down. The price as listed sounds about right. A pretty good deal for a buyer. Very low miles.

A dealer has to make the necessary recall heat fix and should do any updates that are necessary. I would check the service history, make sure this is a for real sale--and you should be good to go. The $18,900 is not bad for a nearly new machine (mileage wise).

Don't know..!!

but it sure seems like something to look into. Once all the recalls and updates aredone it will be a fine machine...

This will obviously require some more research...
The price is not unusually high OR low...
The question becomes: "Exactly what IS this bike about?" :dontknow:
Good Luck, and Happy Hunting!

I think the $32,000 price tag for a 2013 is over priced... when I bought my 2014 RT limited.. the dealer had a brand new 2013 for $16,995 ... but with all the problems with the 2013's i would not even consider a 2013...

TRUE VALUE

:lecturef_smilie:.....What someone PAID for that Spyder (and I doubt that price) is of no relation to the VALUE today......Check NADA & KBB for what it's worth NOW.......remember it's almost 2 years old, with the old style engine, THAT HAD MAJOR HEAT ISSUES.....I wouldn't touch that bike with a ten foot pole.....plus at $ 18,900 I think it's $ 3,000 over priced..........JMHO....Mike ..........PS they are selling 2015 RTS's in Florida and Illinois right now for only $ 22,500 or so , see other posts here on Spyderlovers

I got mine for similar.
I bought a 2011 RTS which had 450 miles on it for $16,500 in 2013. At that time you could not touch a used one for less than 20K and a new 2013 RTS was $26K.

If it's real, just a motivated seller like what I found :)

RT LTD had msrp near 30K. Add tax, title, delivery, set up, polishing, dealer training, BS charges (whatever they can think of) and $32K is surely feasible.

I still contend that $32k for a 2013 in 2014 is way over priced.. maybe a dealer would like to stick someone with that ridiculously inflated price.. IMHO shopping around would surely prove that dealer surely is sticking it to a customer... !!!

That $32,000 price is immaterial now...
Most likely; it included tax, freight , set-up, additional items bought at the time of sale, etc...
The only price that is important; is the one that says "$18,900".

We paid 17,995 for Louise RT in early 2014 brand new. The 2013s have recovered a bit on the used side so 18,999 is actually in the fair range. But no screaming deal either.

Did you catch this part in my original post?

The price is about right as listed for new. Due to heat issues, and bad publicity, the resale value for that model has come crashing down. The price as listed sounds about right. A pretty good deal for a buyer. Very low miles.

The information about $18.9 being in the ballpark for a machine with less than 300 miles on it is sure open to debate. Would I buy it at that price. No.
