• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does the Spyder have any 'Natural Enemies'?

I love your dog trailer!! What make? Where did you get it?
Thanks!
Pam

It was custom made, but the company no-longer exist, but if you look up easyridercamper.com I think they make one just like it. It was spendy but our English Setter is well protected and worth it. We do not like leaving her behind as we had a very bad experience one time doing that with another dog. She has over 10,000 miles of riding in her trailer, well vented and a 4" memory foam mattress and 2' ridged foam insulation.

I just got rid of my lawn, and anything else that needs constant attention.

There's not much that competes for riding time in the winter. Summertime, we have camping, fishing ... that's about it! Loving retirement!

Same here. I highly recommend it.

The wife and I both have bikes and we are now down to 1 cage. So I ride the Spyder for many local errands, part-time work, etc. thanks to the ample storage on an RT.

We're moving from a 2300 sf house w/ a 3/4 acre yard in TX to a 1700 sf house with about an 1800 sf yard in FL right now. So my 4-5 hrs/week in yard work with serious power tools is dropping to 1 with a push-mower. My wife does all the gardening in flower beds and what not. She enjoys it.

I actually love fishing and hunting more than riding. These are the biggest resource demands in my life, and my part-time work is switching from firearms safety and defensive tactics training to fishing with the move (a huge improvement). For me, these don't "steal" from riding. If anything, it would be the opposite.

Living in TX and FL, weather is rarely a deal-killer for riding. Heavy rain changes the calculus, but we ride 12 months/year. No pets or kids. Watering plants is on a sprinkler system. House plants are dry climate stuff. So we can take off and go when we please for weeks at a time.

It has taken several years to adjust, but I think we've about got it where we want it as of next month.

cutting 5 acres

#1 Rule: If it takes more than an hour to mow the lawn, get a bigger mower. A 48" commercial walk behind will solve your problem.

I've got 5 acres and a 52" mower, and it still takes me 5-6 hours ! :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I have only one

Between feeding, fixing the fencing, and other things required to take care of my wife's babies. It is hard to get away for more than a couple days. This is only 7 of the 20 she has.

I hear you, as I have 7 3/4 acres, and made the mistake of getting a 42 inch (I was being cheap) ryding mower. Next year I'm getting the 52 inch zero turn.

Bought in 2004 after moving to 5 acres. Ground is NOT "golf course smooth", and this mower has done everything I ask it to for all these years with NO issues except oil changes, keep air in tires and gas tanks full, and keep blades sharp (I prefer to usually just replace them every few years). Put on my hat, put on my ear/headset, Crank up my MP3 with lots of old country idols, and go mow !!!!:ohyea::ohyea: WHEN DONE PARK IT AND GO FOR SPYDER RIDE TILL NEXT TIME :clap:

and also for Blue Star [QUOTE I hear you, as I have 7 3/4 acres, and made the mistake of getting a 42 inch (I was being cheap) ryding mower. Next year I'm getting the 52 inch zero turn ..[/QUOTE].

Obviously you're in need of someone to design a multiple rotary mower deck system for the Spyder, a la John Deere. Or, maybe, a gang mower, tow-behind like they use on golf courses. That way, you could maximize your ryding time. Perhaps something to look into for Father's Day coming up. Hint, hint!!!

Sadly the ground is not that smooth that the Spyder will not bottom out with the current tires on it. I wonder if there is a way to lift the Spyder like they do four wheal drive trucks :roflblack:
