Does the Rear wheel speed sensor need cleaning and adjustment?

I just received my 2016 accessories catalog from BRP. In the back there is a maintenance schedule which states to clean this sensor, check sensor gap and adjust as required each time rear wheel is loosened. I am about to install a new rear tire on my 2014 RT limited. Is this something I need to do? There is no information in my repair manual just a description on sensor location. Thanks!

IMHO.....I wouldn't be concerned about it other than.........DON'T DAMAGE IT.......this will cause a problem :banghead::banghead::banghead:...................I've had my rear wheels off numerous times and haven't done anything for it , other than be careful........Mike :bbq:

I agree with Mike. I've only had my rear wheel off once, but I took heed to Mike's sage advice. Don't mess with that sensor!

That's a "Cover your butt" warning from BRP...
They put it there; knowing that nobody will actually ever do it!
But if there's a problem; they'll point to it, and wag a finger at the owner... :lecturef_smilie: :shocked:
Truthfully; I've never seen a problem with it reported in here.

There you have it....

As mentioned above...know where it is and leave it alone. Follow Mike's advise and as Bob said it's a warning but also makes the leary run to the dealer. You will be fine just taking your time and not forcing or banging things....:thumbup:

I removed if from the caliper just to get it out of the way while removing the caliper itself. I did not want to be pulling on the wires, etc.

Better safe than sorry.
