• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does the 2014 RT solve the heat issues with the 2013 RT??

I bought the 2013 RT-L Spyder thinking it would be the dream machine but the heat is killing me. It is one of the machines that had the brake manifold re-call. Does the 2014's solve the problem of so much heat wafting up into your face when stopped at lights, etc and onto your right foot, even hot legs wearing jeans??

Would appreciate hearing from 2014 owners. What are your experiences? Are there issues with the 2014's?

I would like to dump my 13 for a new one. Life is too short.
 
It hasn't been above 65 deg F here yet so I can't comment on the heat issue, but otherwise it's running great. No problems at all and there's no noticeable heat wafting up at stop lights.
 
I had heat on my right foot from my 2011 RTS, but not as bad as I've heard about on the '13. I have bout 800 miles on my '14 RTS and haven't had a bit of heat!

Have 1400+ miles...highest ambient temp has been 85'...not a speck of heat from anywhere....on my '10 had the right foot cooker, but Spyderpops block off took care of that. But the '14 is heat free and WOW what a machine. Headed to Savannah, GA tomorrow...:yes:
 
There is a small amount of heat that comes through the seat, but even on a hot day it's pretty minimal, and is nice in the winter. I wouldn't consider it to be an issue.
 
I rode mine on Wednesday of this week, and the ambient temp. was 91 degrees. I did a lot of in town riding as I was running some errands. No heat problems. I went home and my wife wanted to go back down town for an item, so she jumped on the back and we went back (about 10 miles each way) No heat problems. My heat gauge never goes past the middle and the fans never come on. I rode a Harley Heritage Softail before I got my 2013 Spyder RT-L. I only put 4500 miles on it last summer, but I did ride in the hot part of our summer. It was much different than my 2014 RT-L. Placing the radiators up front and adding the second one as well as changing the type of engine and its placement, has made a world of difference. Yes, I agree with you. I too am retired and in my 70's and life is too short not to go ahead and spend the money and get the 2014. It is well worth it. I am very pleased with it. Go for it!!!:yes:
 
I have a total of 5500 on the 2014 in all temps. No heat issues at all. In cold weather though it is quite chilly.
 
No heat issues here....at least not from my Spyder

Took a mental health day today.....I wonder if my health insurance would cover the cost of my Spyder...cheaper than a bunch of nasty meds.....mmmh...but I digressI rode about 140 miles this afternoon with temp reaching 94°... Zero heat issues from the Spyder....although my phone got a little toasty in the middle compartment. I only had this lovely machine since last Saturday....would not want to be without it ever again :)
 
I've had my Spyder in temps of 100 degrees and there are no heat issues. The funny thing is that in cold weather there is a little heat on the seat, but it isn't noticeable in warm weather.

No issues or problems with heat.
 
Drove 98 miles Saturday in 95+ weather. only heat build up was in stop and go traffic. The fans were on about 50% of the time over 2 miles, but temp gauge remained steady.
