There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

It does not. That was introduced with the 1330 ACE engine in 2014.

But don't feel bad cause from what I have seen the savings are minimal and you can do the same by ryding slower. Although on my RS 2012 I get great mileage running up in the 6's. Last check was running 35% of the time between 6 and 8,000 rpm's and averaging 33 mpg. But the EPA guys are happy to see the effort. Much like the hybrid which never came to be....:thumbup:l

Not meaning to sidetrack the post, but this does bring up a good question. What shifting RPM to you use to get the best MPH? I hear of people getting well into the 30's for gas mileage. I am good to get 30 and that is with highway mileage. I don't think I am hard on the throttle and typically shift around 3500 RPMs.

I will cover a couple answers with one post.
Don't fret ECO mode. It came out on the 1330's (2014 and up). Not as advertised. Irritating if you have to keep your eyes open for the arrow telling you when to shift. A faithful tank of gas test--using ECO mode for 200 miles, got me less than 1 mpg improvement. My usual ECO rant--keep the ECO, give me back the electronic frunk release. :roflblack:
RE: Shifting points. I find that 3500 rpm is the "sweet" spot on my 2014. I know it by sound and feel and don't need to look anymore. We usually get high 30's for mpg on a regular basis. I mostly let the engine downshift on its own.

I find that 3000 is about right for gentle riding; more if I'm really accelerating hard.
