• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anyone use Fuel Additive in their Spyder? Is it safe?

i'm sure glad I found this site , you folks know a Lot More about these Spyders and other things to than I do. thanks for all the help.

Sea Foam won't hurt your Spyder. Personally, I am not convinced that it will help anything, either. I know some guys that will add a capful or two to every tank. Not sure what that's supposed to 'cure'. It has been promoted for off-season storage. I tried it for a couple of years, then went back to Sta-Bil. Any of my 4-stroke machines that get seasonal use get stored with a double dose of Sta-Bil before storage. No problems when it's time to fire them up again.

.

My understanding is that SeaFoam is for cleaning out carburetors and other gunked-up fuel delivery systems. Sta-Bil is for preventing or resisting the absorption of water vapor by the fuel in a stored tank. That is how I use them both anyway. So, all my ICE machines that are stored for a season get the Sta-Bil. I use SeaFoam in carbureted engines like my snow thrower and old Yamaha V-Star when they're hard to start or run rough after storage.

does anyone use Fuel Additive in their Spyder ??? I use Sea Foam in most everything I drive and Ride.... but just wondering if its safe in a Spyder ?? as in it not good for the Fuel Pump or Fuel Injectors any Ideas ???

Sea Foam is GREAT STUFF.
I use it in my Spyder, but just during the 3 winter months as a fuel stabilizer when I don't ride often.
I don't use it during the spring, summer or fall.
I had a battery problem this spring, but I've never had a fuel problem with any motorcycle since 1974.

As always, my free advice comes with a 100% money back guarantee.

This thread was started last year, so I'm sure you've read similar comments already.
I think it's time to post the following:

How many forum posters does it take to change a light bulb?

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been
changed
14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently.
7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs
27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs
53 to flame the spell checkers
41 to correct spelling/grammar flames
6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another
6 to condemn those 6 as anal-retentive
2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is
"lamp"
15 know-it-alls who claim *they* were in the industry, and that "lightbulb" is perfectly correct
156 to email the participant's ISPs complaining that they are in
violation of their "acceptable use policy"
109 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please
take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
203 to demand that cross posting to hardware forum, off-topic forum,
and lightbulb forum about changing light bulbs be stopped
111 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light
bulbs and therefore the posts *are* relevant to this forum
306 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty
27 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs
14 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's
3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group
33 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including
all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"
12 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they
cannot handle the light bulb controversy
19 to quote the "Me too's" to say "Me three"
4 to suggest that posters request the light bulb FAQ
44 to ask what is a "FAQ"
4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"
143 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"
1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.

Hi, new here. Took delivery on a 2022 RT Limited last week. I live in New England so asked my dealer about winter storage. He told me they have seen good success with Startron by Star Brite? Also, I am a bit confused, should I be using an additive all the time? I looked around and there are no gas stations around me that don't use ethanol, at least that I could find. Thanks for the advice.

I also use StarTron ..... they claim it lengthens the shelf life of the gas and chemically changes / combines with the Ethyl, to alter it into something neutral ( or something like that :dontknow: ) ..... Mike ..... PS, I use about 10 drops in every tank of gas , then three times that for winter ( w / non-ethyl gas ) ....
