• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anyone know if the BRP hitch on my 2010 RT...

... will fit on the (NEW) 2019 RT Limited we are considering to buy? Hate to spend another bunch of $$$ for another hitch. What about removal? Can a reasonably competent handy guy remove the hitch and get the belt and tire back where it needs to be? Trying to save some $$$ again. Thanks -
Jim

The physical hitch will fit but you will need a new wiring setup specifically for your new ride

Removal is very simple and no need to remove belt or tire.

Easy job to get it off. All you do is pull the axle out. No need to remove belt or wheel or change anything else. Just pay attention to the spacers or shims that might be in place. You might need to get a replacement harness, but you're still waaay ahead doing it yourself. You can find videos of most anything on YouTube

Here are the instructions for installing a hitch, reverse the process for removal. I'm using this link as a reference for the hitch removal only not the wiring. https://instructions.brp.com/content/instruction-sheet/en_CA/e-instruction-details.html#googtrans(en)&articleNo=kA00c000000smGKCAY&lang=en&title=ROADSTER%20KIT%20-%20Trailer%20Hitch%20Spyder%20RT&rel_part_number=219400854

Is the connector on your trailer the 9 pin round or 4 pin square? This will make a difference in your wiring setup.

My wiring is actual a 5-pin flat for my Bunkhouse camper.

One question ... I bought a 2017 RTL used that has the BRP hitch on it. I removed the long center bolt and the hitch, as I don't see us using it. It appears as though the long center bolt is only installed with the hitch, and there is no need for one without it. The long center bolt is too long to reinstall without the hitch ...

Just making sure it did not come with a shorter one prior to the hitch install.

Thanks,
Doug

No you do not need the center bolt. The bolt is part of the hitch. After you remove the hitch you replace the plastic caps in to the hollow axle if you still have them

That is what I thought ... always good to ask when the rear axle is concerned!
No plastic plugs, I'll try to pick some up sometime.
Thanks,
Doug

Are you looking to sale that hitch as I may be interested. Not sure about shipping as I see your in Nova Scotia, might make it cost prohibitive. Let me know.
Thanks,
Chris
