• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anybody use a J & S Jack to lift their Spyder?

Does anybody use a J &S jack to lift their Spyder? They used to offer an adapter for Spyders but I see they went out of business. I really like mine but don't have a two wheeler anymore and have two Spyders I'd like to lift.

I have used the ATV lift above on 3+ Spyders over 9 years and 2 Honda Valkyrie's since 2004

T.P. - that link won't work for me, altho I do get to the Northern Tool + Equipment Error page... :banghead:
But nothing works for me on their site either, not even their search facility - so maybe it's a 'cos I'm in Oz' thing?!!! :dontknow:

Kingz, you could try putting 'J&S Jack' into the Search field; ticking the 'Search Titles Only' box in the drop-down list; submitting your Search; then looking thru the listed results to see if anything catches your eye, altho much of what you see in the results is simply there because of mis-used post titles...

Still, there's already a fair bit of discussion about J&S Jacks and their alternatives that's been posted over the years which remains available on the Forum IF you take the time to look for it & read it.

Edit: The Amazon link works for me now, the Northern Tools link still just returns their "We're Sorry. An error occurred" message. ;)

I use my J & S jack to lift my '20 F3. I contacted them about the Spyder adapters. They quit making them long before they went belly up.

This is the exact same lift that is sold at Harbor Freight, I am picking one up as soon as we return from a trip on Wednesday at a sale price of $109.00. I have a Handy Lift with removable wings that I don't want to use on my Spyder.

I have the J&S jack with their Spyder adapter. Works really well. It is a shame their mom and pop business could never ramp up with the demand. They did build a very high quality product but did not have "business" side of running a business figured out.

Might want to get info on the Spyder Adapter to Lamont at LAMONSTER GARAGE, He may be the best chance of those being made again.

Looks just like the jack that I just received from Harbor Freight. Haven't used it yet. Looks like I will have to raise the back end up a little bit perhaps an inch or so. Easy to back up over a 2x6 piece of board to give enough clearance to slide the jack under.

Any chance we could get a photo of the adapter?

Does one have to remove the foot peg or floor board to provide clearance for the Harbor Freight type of lift?

Not on mine. To gain a touch more of lift clearance with the 2" lift extension added, I drive my front tires onto a piece of 2"x4".

Thanks troop... :2thumbs:

Just put a short 2x6 under each front wheel and worked like a charm, easy to lift. Oil and tire changes are now doable for this old Fart...
