• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Do you wear a helmet? Your choice?

We come form a family made up of nureses who also happen to be LEOs witht he Dept of justice as kid s we felt we were invicable and in my 30 I cant tell you how many buds We lost due to head injury on bikes its wa allot @ years ago our SIL and Daughter take a thump in Waco and go down with 4 others all bad but alive not helmets no head injury. They say it is about having choice yea sure is. they made a choice to ride Tandem the made a choice to not where helmet... they made a choice to ride to fast for conditions

They made all bad choices that cost them dreary so many medical bill from being air lifted no head inf to Bankruptcy so many choices

had a bud that had he helmet on the sissy bar when he was just so close to home and did not see the truck with eq trailer pull out and stop he hit his head under 10 miles per hour 2 month in a rehab unit and now limited brain function We are all know as Donner in the medical profession they wt to harvest us Wear the shell and don't just survive but live later

Please remember the ones left behind, a foolish decision has consequences for more than just the person with out a helmet.

I wear a helmet

but I heard many years ago that when riding a motorcycle, it's not a questions of "if" you will crash, but "when" you will crash. I suppose it's a little like Russian roulette. I suppose one can rationalize anything. I can see riding a Spyder without a helmet since it is so stable. But.....

Wearing a helmet makes good sense. I think we all could agree on that point.

The question is when my choice should be mine to make or should be legislated away for someone else to make. As with most things in life, I believe I should make that choice. The state does have an obligation to safeguard those ho cannot care for themselves, so I believe laws should be in place to require minors to wear helmets.

The question also is when am I free to participate in behaviors some would deem a dangerous and when laws should be written to restrict or remove my rights to those activities?

It's a slippery slope on which we find ourselves dancing.

What common sense?

Let's face it, with the lack of common sense pulsing through the veins of the average American, the state needs to mandate things like wearing a helmet... for the good of all.
