• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Do you remove your Airhawk seat pad when you leave your Spyder parked?

For those with Airhawk seat pads, do you generally remove it when stopped for any length of time and away from the Spyder? Seems it would be too easy for someone to unhook it and be gone. I just got mine and haven't put it on yet, but I do plan to not leave it on when away. Just wondering what others do.

I've had an airhawk on all my rides since 2009. I never remove it on day-rides or multi-day trips. Even leave it on overnight at motels.

Sometimes I cover it with a plastic bag or bike cover to keep it dry in the AM.

Never had one stolen or tampered with across 25+ states (but I don't stop in big cities).

When I installed the air hawk straps I put the fasteners under the seat but if I was staying at a motel I would simply unzip and remove the pad. No problem during the day rides.

.

Had them for years. Never removed them. A cover is on the :spyder2: when overnighting. Sometimes I put mine on the poor, old, slow V-Max as my butt has not conformed to the Corbin brick. nojoke

A good question. Various answers.

Location, location, location....where you are leaving your :f_spider: unattended is important. I am careful about my surroundings. We left the key in one of our Spyders overnight in a busy motel parking lot in Fairbanks, AK. It was still there in the morning.

We did own an Airhawk. I NEVER actually attached it to the seat. I just placed it on when needed. When parking, it was no issue to just grab it off the seat and put it in the frunk or trunk. Little things like the Airhawk are subject to getting snarfed. And that is whether they are actually needed by the person or not. Helmets are another issue. Expensive and many these days have extra $$ in communications equipment attached. I would make sure our helmets were always secure.

I've used an an Airhawk on and off (mostly on) for many years and I leave it on. I've never had an issue, except the cover is getting very sun faded. ;)

I usually leave mine on the Spyder for gas and food stops. I will put it in the side bag on overnight stays. The main reason for that is to keep it dry overnight.

I have a Alaskan Leather sheepskin on my seat. I generally leave it on unless theirs's a chance of rain or overnight dew.

Depends on what and where I am, if I am at a watering hole and getting a bite to eat, or sightseeing, no and most likely my helmets over the key in the switch! If we are in the hotel for the night and I don't have my cover on, yes! And the helmet and key are with me.

Yeah, I do. Mine isn't strapped to the seat, so I simply take it off and toss it in my saddlebags. Out of sight, out of mind to the light-fingered.

Had someone filch my sheepskin seat pad some years ago, right off my bike in my office parking lot.

My Butt Buffer stays on. If the F3S is parked and it looks like rain I'll throw it in a shadbag or frunk.

We also had the Alaskan sheepskin pads for each bike. Bought them in person when we lived in AK. Same treatment as the Airhawks. Put them in a case when parked.
